Ah okay yeah I get it now. Makes total sense yeah... *cries in brainfuck* 😭

Nah but this is very cool. And thanks for getting me onto Code Golf, I've now got another item on the weekend obsessions list.

In terms of augmentation. I'm sure not many players would understand brainfuck, and maybe you want them to experiment and learn it a bit, that's definitely a valid way to go. I'm thinking though, another direction is using the brainfuck program as a kind of generation seed. Rather than explaining what the language is and what it does, you could let it remain a ... well, brainfuck ... and you could lean into it. Let it be a mystery, maybe write a narrative about the player is watching ants come out of a colony. Ants are kind of a mystery, too.

Are you looking for a gameplay loop in all this, or happy for it to be more of a math toy? I could riff a few gameplay loops with you if you wanna go that direction. Thinking Pokemon but brainfuck ants. Or 2048 but you're trying to get the ants to collide in order to level them up. Or an ant with a random seed spawns and you can place one block at a time, trying to fence her in - but every turn you take she gets a turn, too. If she gets off the grid, she wins - if you fence her in, you win.
