This is one of the most polished entries I played. The crayon and paper-craft look is gorgeous, and watching a single match turn into a spreading fire with a combo meter and medals is exactly the chain reaction fantasy. The upgrade tree and the "New record!" payoff make me want to retry right away. My first drop stalled at a road gap with no explanation, so a short hint about why the fire stopped would help new players.

Honestly, there is nothing special about it. Just delegating monkey job that used to take hours or even whole days.
Here are a few simple examples.
Code:
Scaling resolution for different screen sizes. UI work and stuff like that. It used to take a lot of time for such little things.
Text:
Sometimes you write an upgrade description, but it does not fit in the frame because of the length. Rewording descriptions so they fit turned out to be a great fix for that headache. 😄
Art:
I used to sit in Photoshop for hours doing post-processing, manually changing contrast/brightness, and other parameters for hundreds of sprites. Now you can just automate it.
Yeah, that is just a small part, but you have to understand there is no magic or secret to it. Modern AI cannot make games from a single prompt or anything like that, despite all those posts on Twitter. Though maybe GPT 67 will be able to do it. 😄
It works best when you know what it is capable of, clearly understand what you need, and phrase your tasks based on that.
I checked all the AI tags simply because it feels honest to me. It is way worse when people use AI and try to hide it. To me that just looks strange. 😄
Really awesome art style. So coherent and well put together. Love the little burn transition between screens, feels really polished, awesome work!
This game is brilliant in every way, congrats! I’d happily play an expanded version 😉

Amazing use of the theme in this game. Very cohesive art style and sfx. The skill tree was a bit clunky at times but other than that the UI was really slick. And technically speaking, I think this a great example of the types of games Defold is good at making. It runs buttery smooth in the browser with lots of chain reactions going on.
A very polished game with a level of quality that feels close to a commercial release. The theme is also integrated really well and fits the jam perfectly. One small suggestion: a short tutorial at the beginning might help players get into the game more smoothly.
Yeah, I was thinking about a tutorial as well, but I haven't come up with a solution yet that wouldn't push players away instead. I tried adding animations to the buttons over time, but that is obviously not enough. Definitely something to think about and improve.
Thank you so much for the feedback! ❤️
