Wow, this game really commits to its theme. The UI, the color palette, and the art style all feel very cohesive. It reminded me of SABLE and Chants of Sennaar. The background art in particular strongly brought Chants of Sennaar to mind, and since I really love the visuals in that game, I enjoyed that a lot here too.

I also really liked the costume designs. Overall, it feels like a great deal of care went into researching and representing the historical and cultural details. I’m not an expert in the field, so I can’t say how accurate everything is with certainty, but the effort definitely comes through.

There is just one small thing about the UI that bothered me a little. When a choice takes up more than one line, the decorative elements on both ends seem to stretch vertically along with it, and I found that pretty noticeable. The choice box itself also started to look slightly distorted to me. I hadn’t really noticed it before, but once I realized that the whole choice element was being stretched vertically for two-line choices, I couldn’t stop noticing it.

That said, it’s definitely not a serious issue! I’m just the kind of person who pays a lot of attention to UI details.

Overall, I thought it was a really good game. And to say it again, I especially appreciated how much effort seems to have gone into researching the ancient culture represented in the game. I really love that kind of detail.

Thank you! We did spend a lot of time researching everything that came to mind (like their national board game, known as "the royal game of Ur". Sadly, we don't know its akkadian name, otherwise we'd have mentioned it in the dialogue. I slipped its board in the cutscene background, though.)

I loved Chants of Sennaar! Altough I can't cite it as inspiration for the game because backgrounds and the general palette were done by my teammate.

Yes, I did notice the choice box gets weirdly distorted, but I have been unable to properly fix it so far. And, don't worry, it bothers me too.
