I have the first part of my game completed, 21 rooms, platforming, 2 enemy types, traps, and a boss. I have been trying to build a community for my game using the footage from this part of the game but i am not getting any traction. Even here, 40 views, 9 browser plays, 1 rating, and 2 comments. I had asked around on Reddit on getting traction and a comment said that failure to get traction is more a sign of the game. That comment did not have a link to the game. I am here to get feedback on the game. Is it boring? Does it look unattractive? Does it look dated? You get stuck in your head right, with your head being biased telling you it works, just keep pushing, reaching out to players, etc. Maybe i need to relook at everything, maybe even abandon the matter completely and start again. There are still ideas i want to implement hence the reluntance to just scrap the whole project but if i am already off on the wrong foot there is no point.

Congrats on completing your first section of your game! It's always cool seeing a project come together.

What's been the biggest challenge getting to this point? Was it more on the development side, or keeping everything organized and moving forward?

The first problem was game art. I am no good at art so the first version of the game used assets i drew myself. They were very basic and more functional than anything else. But they helped me see if the logic of my game. I managed to hire an artist to get it to the point where it is now. It still looks a bit flat but that brings us to the biggest challenge, funding. I need to outsource a lot of things but financial resources are thin. Right now the playable demo has no music or sound. Right now trying to update it with free sound assets so i can tackle the next challenge, attention. Once i add sound i plan to get to the playable demo onto other sites and start building a following so i can look for funding. The plan is to finish the game.
