Are factors worth increasing generally?

So I know that factors are used to gate some classes, and of course getting Excellent gives you benefits.

I think in prior versions, factors also provided different skill caps (Physics, Wits, Charm), but it's been a while.

Now that the three skills have 100 caps no matter what, is there any point to raising a factor below Excellent unless you're chasing a class?  And if not...why not?  It seemed like a good way to distinguish characters with different strengths, and to work on improving those characters' potential.

Generally speaking? Only one, and only for specific jobs. You want charm on the social jobs, physics on most of the work jobs. Mainly because higher factors means gaining stats faster in those areas.

Plus wits for exp gain.

The game's calculations are exponential, so doubling the number far more than doubles the output. Getting there sooner is valuable enough to be worth it.

Or, y'know, just skip a few days at a time and don't worry about all that nerd shit.

Otherwise? No, it's not really useful for most of your characters. The ones on the combat team, maybe, and that's about all.

So it's mostly for stat improvement speed, not for 'final' result?  e.g. if I have a character at 100 physics with a Physical factor 3, there's really no benefit to going to factor 4?

Obviously this excludes Excellent when other benefits unlock.
