Thanks for submitting Beyond The Great Lake! This was a charming entry, and we really enjoyed it.
The premise is fun and relatable. Being a bored kid in a small town, taking a dare from your annoying friend Peter, and trying to throw a paper plane across the lake is a simple setup that immediately pulls you in. Salvaging items from the scrap sale to upgrade your plane is a clever and lighthearted way to use the theme.
The art style was fun, simple, and effective, and it fit the tone of the game perfectly. The gameplay was simple, well put together, and did exactly what it set out to do.
This is one of those games where adding more would probably ruin the charm. It knows what it is, and it works because it stays focused and small. That’s something a lot of jam games struggle with, and you nailed it.
Great work, and thanks for being part of the jam!
