Hello! I’m developing Zhimeng Town (织梦小镇), an isometric pixel-art town game built in Godot, and I’m looking for pixel artists to help shape its world. The project already has scene artwork and a playable town prototype. I’d love to work with someone who enjoys turning everyday places into memorable little spaces.
The game: build a life through farming and work
The gameplay direction is economy-driven, with farming and town jobs at its heart. Players earn income through farm activities and work, then decide how to put that income back into production and everyday life. The intended loop is: farm or work → earn money → reinvest → improve earning capacity → open up more choices.
I want the economy to give players meaningful decisions: how to spend their time, which source of income to pursue, and what to invest in next. Farming and jobs should complement each other, giving players room to find their own rhythm and gradually build a life in the town.
That economic foundation sits inside a warm, inviting world. The goal is a town whose shops, interiors, and waterfront have their own character—places players want to explore, return to, and eventually feel at home in. These are the gameplay goals; the full farming and work systems are still being developed.
What already exists
Current work includes an inn interior, a grocery store, a salon, and a waterfront dock, along with a playable environment prototype. The project has work on walkable spaces, stairs and different heights, water presentation, and detailed furniture and props. The images below show actual project artwork and a gameplay capture.
The game is still in development. The interior images are scene/art previews, while the dock image is from the playable prototype and includes temporary elements. These images show the visual foundation we can build on together.
Scenes from the current project

Inn interior — a welcoming shared space, with a reception area, seating, shelves, and detailed furnishings. Current scene/art preview.

Grocery store — shelves, goods, counter space, and everyday props that establish the town’s visual character. Current scene/art preview.

Salon interior — workstations, mirrors, furniture, and a waiting area. Current scene/art preview.

Waterfront dock — a gameplay capture showing the dock, stairs, props, and water. Work in progress; temporary prototype elements are visible.
The real art challenge: refinement and richer scenes
Our biggest art need is careful refinement of existing assets. We already have usable artwork and a playable scene foundation, but some furniture and decorative props still look too plain or repetitive, and rooms need more character and visual variety.
These are concrete problems we have encountered during production:
- Unnecessary cushion seams, rough joins, broken outlines, or duplicate contour lines that make sofas and chairs look fragmented.
- Curves, proportions, and contact points that need pixel-level cleanup so furniture reads as one solid, deliberately designed object.
- Pot rims, leaf boundaries, and small plant forms that are not clear enough at the game's actual viewing scale.
- Materials, highlights, and shadows that need better control so upholstery, wood, ceramics, and foliage feel distinct.
- Scenes that feel monotonous when furniture, plants, and farm or workplace props lack enough meaningful variation and well-chosen detail.
We are looking for a pixel artist with the patience and visual judgment to improve those details, develop refined furniture and plants, and help each room feel thoughtfully furnished and lived in. Clean silhouettes, consistent isometric perspective, readable materials, and purposeful detail matter more than simply adding more objects.
The examples below show actual issues from our refinement process and the cleaner direction we are aiming for.

Earlier versions on the LEFT; revised versions on the RIGHT. The comparison shows cleaner cushion seams and joins, clearer furniture forms, and a lamp alignment repair. These are examples from our refinement process.

Older plant example, enlarged for inspection. The pot rim and leaf boundaries need clearer definition. This is a problem example, rather than a target-quality reference.
Looking for pixel artists
This recruitment is specifically for pixel artists who enjoy refining and enriching game artwork. I’m especially interested in someone who enjoys:
- Isometric environments, building interiors, and small outdoor scenes.
- Furniture, shop displays, tools, and everyday props that give a place personality.
- Farm and workplace assets to support the farming and job gameplay.
- Consistent perspective, readable silhouettes, thoughtful palettes, and careful pixel-level polish.
The existing scenes set a direction: cozy colors, clear spatial structure, and lots of small details. I’d welcome an artist’s ideas for making that direction more consistent and expressive. If your strongest area is environments or props, that is already a useful fit; animation experience is also welcome.
How we could work together
We can begin with a clearly scoped asset set or scene, agree on references and expectations, and see how our working styles fit. I can share the current scenes and technical requirements so the artwork has a clear destination in the game.
Collaboration scope, compensation, schedule, and usage rights will be discussed individually before work begins. Please include your preferred terms or rates when you get in touch.
The project uses AI-assisted tools in parts of its development and asset workflow. I’m looking for a pixel artist’s visual judgment, consistency, and craft, and I’m happy to discuss the workflow openly before we start.

Please send a portfolio or a few examples of your pixel art, the kind of assets you most enjoy making, your general availability, and your preferred collaboration terms. Isometric interiors, farming assets, or detailed props would be particularly helpful examples.
If the idea of making a little town feel alive through its art appeals to you, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s make the farm, the workplaces, and the everyday corners of Zhimeng Town places players want to spend time in.
