Pretty cool concept, it kind of feels like a small part of a bigger game, i.e. what's in this game felt like a mechanic in a shoot-em-up, where you need to maximize one color sometimes to kill certain enemies more easily, then max out the other to kill other enemies more easily? The movement and shooting felt good, but wish there were enemies or more interesting obstacles of some sort. Visuals are good, though could have added a scrolling (or even static) background to add some depth and set the mood. All in all though, nice little project, congrats!
you get the damage buff always on alternate colour enemies! this is an established trope in videogames since the 2000s!! thank you for playing!!!!
The sound fx weren't bad but they get a bit repetitive with the high pitch on fast shooting. I would have liked a volume slider. Yet, very good attempt at learning Godot. I haven't learned Unreal yet! Don't hate Godot, Mana! Don't! Don't do it! XD
thank you iRad, I'm the godot hater no. 1 now! haha. if it makes you feel better I spent nearly an hour auditioning laser noises to find the least annoying one! next time it will be actively soothing I promise!!
Nice job! It was really challenging keeping a chain going!
thank you, yes that's the hi-score mentallity! thanks to kilted I have a post jam patch for the dark chains too!!
Nice job! It was really challenging keeping a chain going!
At first when I started playing I tried collecting the enemies lolol. I then figured out I had to shoot them. It reminds me of retro games. As other mentioned maybe the shooting speed was a bit too much. I enjoyed the visuals though te art was cute. The size of the game was a bit strange for me. Is it supposed to be a mobile game after? Very fun to play, Great job.
yeah it's based on a modern flip phone resolution 480x854 !
Really loved sounds . Was a nice space shooter. Died on my first 2 attemps cause I thought you had to collect the enemies not shoot them . But really nice entry. Well done
thank you DannyK !!
Manadono using Godot?! Hell yeah! Cool little space shooter game!
thank u temptica, every second was painful !
Who doesn't love an old fashioned shooter, Skill is in shooting the same colour doughnut 3 times to get the multiplier which makes controlled fire the name of the game. Would like more varied attack patterns to keep the interest but as a classic shooter goes its really nice. Powerups are also welcome in any shooter.
thank you for the kinds words, I was going to implement a proper scrolling spawning thing, screen clear weapon, bgm, but time caught up with me :(
Yep, shooting felt for me too fast too. One of ideas could make it super fun is to make shooting slow, and increase shooting speed when player gets bonus multiplier - this would encourage player to play game correctly too :). After all, I think you made great foundation for a space shooter game :)
ah, fully correctly, yes. I agree.
Ship movement felt great and the chain combos were a nice touch, but I did find the shooting sound to be a bit grating especially given the high fire rate, and the font especially in the intro was not the easiet to read. I agree with the BlackmageUK's comment that a slower attack speed might be beneficial.
thank you for the kind words! it's my fiirst time using godot so audio pooling went out the window I'm sorry !!
Love the idea of getting more points with the colour combos movement was very smooth. The visuals were also clear and vibrant. The attack speed was super fast and it made the game quite easy in my opinion so maybe slowing things right down and speeding up later with more difficulity. Great job!
thank you for the kind words :)
