Hi! I'm offering three free playtest slots for indie browser games.

This is focused on the first-time player experience rather than exhaustive QA. I'll play naturally for up to 30 minutes and send you a concise written report covering things such as:

  • what I understood immediately (and what I didn't)
  • onboarding and controls
  • UI/readability friction
  • moments where I felt stuck or confused
  • pacing / moments where I started losing interest
  • audio or sensory issues
  • what made me want to keep playing

I'm deliberately testing as a normal first-time player, so I won't study instructions or try to guess the developer's intended solution before playing.

Browser games are preferred, and I won't promise to complete longer games. If you want me to focus on one particular question, include it with your link.

I have room for three games at the moment.

If interested, reply with:

  1. game link
  2. approximate playtime
  3. one thing you especially want feedback on (optional)

Hi Gerard — your cold first-impression approach is exactly the kind of feedback we need. I represent WALLROAM, a small browser sandbox where you explore a stylized Tokyo, climb walls and rooftops, and draw on the city.

Game: https://wallroam.com/?lang=en&utm_source=other&utm_campaign=learn06-gerard-en

Playtime: open-ended; a 5–10 minute first look would be useful, and stopping earlier is fine. No download or account is needed to explore and try drawing.

Question: without studying the instructions first, is it clear what you can do, and is there anything you want to keep doing after the first few minutes? Please tell us where you stop or get stuck; a negative first impression is useful too.

For transparency: development was AI-assisted, and some billboard images were AI-generated. Saving needs sign-in (three saved places free; optional extras US$1/month/place), but saving or paying is not needed for this trial. Thank you for offering these free sessions.

Hey Gerard, this sounds like exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for.

Game link: Void Runner

Playtime: A normal run is roughly 5–10 minutes, though feel free to play as much or as little as feels natural.

VOID RUNNER is a free browser-playable arcade survival shooter inspired by Asteroids. I'm a solo hobby dev, and right now I'm mainly trying to figure out whether the core game is genuinely fun enough to keep developing further.

The main thing I'd love feedback on is your overall first impression: what did you like, what didn't you like, and what would you most want to see changed or added?

I'm also interested in anything that feels confusing, frustrating, unfair, or makes you lose interest. If something makes you want to keep playing or start another run, I'd really like to know that too.

I'm currently debating where to take progression next—something more roguelike with upgrades between runs, or a shop-style system rather than relying mostly on the current power-up pickups—so any thoughts there are welcome as well.

Please don't worry about being nice to it. Brutal first-impression feedback is exactly what I'm after.

Thanks for offering these!

Hey Gerard, this sounds like exactly the kind of feedback I'm looking for.

Game link: Dualspace

Playtime: Each  level is around 1-3 minutes, and there are ten levels in the free demo.

Dualspace is a browser-playable sokoban puzzle game. I am looking for harsh feedback on User Experience and onboarding, before marketing.

Note: The full game costs $4.99, but no payment is needed for this playtest.

Hi Gerard! Are your three free slots already taken, or are you still considering short browser demos? I develop Endless Tower and would mainly need feedback on the first 10 minutes and whether the merge cost (losing a floor) is clear. I noticed the three existing requests, so I wanted to check availability before adding another submission. No worries if your queue is full!
