Wow, this is really interesting—as expected of ChatGPT Astra. It's exactly my kind of game; it's awesome!Feel free to check out other titles, too—and don't forget to leave a comment and cast a vote (at least five of them)!

You caught me. I was working on games instead of playing other people's games.

Red handed.

Thank you for playing!

It was a fun game. I played it while eating pizza. It reminded me of the games I used to play on Roblox.

Thanks!! I didnt intend for it to look like a Roblox clone but thats what GPT gave me and I was like "well as long as they explode when they die, this is probably fine"

Ok, here's my feedback on this game (besides audio, cause mine isn't good either)

Pros:

  1. Pretty fun! I played a whole match and wanted more.
  2. Very polished. Everything works, damage, health, boost, ammo feels balanced.
  3. I love the variety in maps given the time constraint!
  4. This has to be an excellent use of time and resources with AI! It may seem simple enough of a shooter, but a shooter has more to it than most realize.

Cons:

  1. The grappling hook was cool, until I realized I wasn't sure what the benefit was.
  2. There was no zoom feature, which added a little bit to frustration. (for me)
  3. Slightly visually bland, but it's understandable for 10 days on a Tribes clone, even with AI.

Grappling hook definitely works best on the second two levels. You can also grab enemies out of the sky with it if you're very clever, but mostly its for swinging around and getting better control. For instance if you have the flag and you are "coming in hot" and going to overshoot your own flag pole, you can use it to try and pull yourself down to the target location.

Zoom definitely should be added, right now there is a sniper rifle which auto-zooms when you pick it up, but in both cases (having no zoom by default, and auto sniper zoom) feels bad compared to "controlling your zoom" -- the main issue is that I've found a lot of problems with trying to use Right Mouse Button in web browser games because browsers really want to reserve RMB for browser function, not pass it through to a game or app easily. So a lot of mouse conventions, like "right click to zoom" are not as simple on the web. Still I can bind it to Z :)

Totally agree the graphics are simple. Part of this is to keep it working at 64x64 scale -- but also I think GPT just isn't the artist that Claude is right now, especially as it comes to animation and "liveliness" of 3d character art.

Thank you for the feedback!

Wow, this was a fun game!

The art style is simple, clean, and really nice. I’m usually not very good at aiming and shooting games, but I still managed to take down a few enemies and had a lot of fun playing!

I feel this game would be even more fun to play with friends. I can imagine how chaotic and hilarious it would get!

Nice work, brother! Keep it up!

There is currently a 1v1 setting that will let you direct connect and play with or against a single friend online.

However, the server is simulated on the host, so if playing competitively, the host will have an advantage because of no lag. I do plan to add in a "lag toggle"so that the host can simulate the lag of their partner for fairness if desired.

Right now I've decided not to do any proper online play for my AI games because there are already a lot of persistent online games and hosting is not yet trivial. If/when hosting these games becomes very cheap, or if I can pay for hosting using my AI development accounts, that would be the thing that would encourage me to make this a proper online persistent server experience for lots of people to play together.

But I do agree! Thank you for playing, I'll be working more on this!

What a fun game. I love the visuals, don't love the audio. Think it has a lot of potential.

Indeed I have heard "wooshing white noise" is not the soundscape my damaged eardrums thinks it is.

Thank you for playing! I'll fix the sound very soon on this one!!

Yeah, I realized that the moment audio was generated, but thought I would have time to fix that later. How wrong I was, lol! Thanks for the constructive criticism! I'm not sure what I'm doing with audio, so I'll have to brush up on that. Thank you!!!

I have a laundry list of things I want to fix on this and balance. I work 50 hours a week on an ERP project at work, so I tried to make the best of this. Had fun doing it!

And this is my first attempt at a game jam! (and first game that came this far!)

Sorry, I thought I was back on my entry's page when I typed this, lol!
