Something is knocking beneath the Lantern Rest. The door below bears your name.

I have released The Door Beneath the Inn - Drop #03, a 15-page A4, system-neutral fantasy mystery for GMs. Run the whole situation, move the inn into your campaign, or reuse a character, clue or dangerous relic. No membership is required.

The pack includes four NPC Quick Cards, Warden guidance, six locations, fourteen clues, responsive pressures, relics and complications, possible outcomes, three player handouts and a Run This Tonight reference.

GM preview: the image below contains mystery spoilers.

Actual Useful Stuff page from Drop 03: six dangerous relics with costs, an optional Seal Clock and eight complications. GM spoilers.

At the table: the Sword That Always Wins offers an impossible advantage. Every victory costs someone the bearer loves something of equal importance. It is a temptation and a consequence, not a scene the party has to follow.

Stories in Motion is the design approach: prepare active people, pressures and consequences, then respond to player choices. Use your preferred fantasy rules for mechanics; no required ending or system-specific stat blocks.

Format and disclosure: one full-color English A4 PDF; no separate US Letter/printer-friendly edition. AI-assisted text and generated illustrations, human-edited. Themes include curses, confinement, inherited duties, death and costly bargains.

Try the approach free with The Empty Chair - Drop #00, a separate free mystery with optional donations.

What would your players do with a weapon that wins every fight but makes someone they love pay the price?
