This is a really cool concept and a good use of limitation, kutos to you for that (✿◠‿◠) i typically dislike car games but the being able to fix parts of it made it quite fun goodjob on your submission!!!

This is a quite creative take on the car driving type of games. Normally these types of games are difficult to make a game interesting since the player is just driving and maybe the goal is to not hit anything. This game adds another layer of depth to those games by having a minigame to fix different parts of the car which makes this game significantly more unique  and enjoyable. However, the drawback in this game is that it is difficult to tell how the player loses. There is no timer (until a random one appears in the top left) and it seems like problems happen in the car even if you dont hit anything. Overall this is a really creative take on the genre with a few minor issues. Great job :)

A good use of the limitation, and the minigames were very varied and exciting! The details on the map were also a highlight for me :)

I love the concept and the minigames to fix the car. Good job! :D

I really liked the game, and I enjoyed the subsystems for resolving car issues. Congratulations on the game.

Simple little game and an enjoyable few minutes, the mini games were a little bit difficult to understand quick enough to stop myself dying at first but after I had figured that out I managed to drive around and make it home before the storm got me. Well done both of you!

Developer

thank you so much! yes we wanted to add a manual that described the minigames at first but ended up forgetting and not having the time ":)

This is the first game I've played that explores the "Staying Warm" theme in such an interesting way! There are a few things I'd like to highlight.

  • I think the game does incorporate the theme, but it feels more like an additional mechanic that gets a little lost among the other gameplay elements. At first, I wasn't entirely sure how the game connected to the theme. Perhaps making this connection a little more apparent from the beginning could help players better understand the idea behind the game.
  • The autumn theme was another aspect I would have loved to see explored a little more. To me, the game felt more like a city or urban driving experience than an autumn-themed game. Adding a few more autumn-inspired details, especially at the beginning, could help establish the atmosphere and make the game's interpretation of the jam themes more immediately recognizable. That way, the car would feel like a natural part of the overall concept rather than the main focus, with the jam themes helping give the experience its own identity.
  • I found repair minigames really interesting! They reminded me a little of Among Us, and I enjoyed seeing how they were implemented.
  • I'd especially like to thank the artist for artwork. The game looks really good overall, and the visuals do a great job of creating the feeling of a city. Everything fits together nicely, and nothing feels out of place stylistically.
  • The controls took a little getting used to at first, mainly because the car has some inertia. However, I actually see this as a positive aspect of the game. The car feels like a car, and that makes driving more immersive.
  • This might just be a matter of my own skill, but I wonder if the minigames could be made a little more forgiving. That said, I'd want to test this more before making any firm conclusions, as the current difficulty might be exactly what the developers intended.

Overall, while the game doesn't immediately communicate its connection to the jam's themes and restrictions, those elements are still present, and the game looks and plays quite well. I think there's a lot to appreciate here, especially the repair minigames, the visual presentation, and the driving itself.

Great work, everyone! =D

Thanks so much for the review! Both of us did art on the project, actually (sengul did the car it looks fantastic lol)! Honestly, if it weren't for the time limit, I could have spent the three days just polishing the car movement mechanics, but as you said, I do end up appreciating how the inertia adds to the feel of the game a little more.

The visuals of the car are interestingly integrated into the game and, in principle, the visuals are made in an interesting style.
But personally, I lacked the ability to adjust the volume of music and sounds.
It was also difficult to complete the mini-games. /\__/\

Developer

thank you so much! it was kinda both of our first time's making art lol so i rlly appreciate that! but yeah we didn't have time to add sound settings unfortunately :( and i hope you tried your luck on easy mode too!

Fun game!  The minigames remind me of Among Us to an extent, though it would be even better if everything was faster!

Developer(+2)

ahahaha thank you sm! yes would've loved to add some power-ups for the car but the time limit ":)

realy cool game. i liked graphics the most. thou i have a hugr concern. Your game is cool concept but time to do the quick events is much too low, at least for me, maybe im slow. i assume that when you museled memory every minigame it appeard easy but i enjoed game only when playing on easy mode because other way it was too dificult. Also ealy creative idea of implemeting heat keeping

Developer

thank you so much for taking the time to play our game! i can definitely see that the minigames are quite difficult even on medium mode, i can barely do them myself at hard mode hahaha, will be checking out your game now too :)

Really fun chaotic game, but i feel like there should be a way to see the instructions for each minigame after the first time.

Developer

ahh thank you sm! and yess we originally had an idea of adding a manual which you could flip through for instructions but forgot in the time crunch ":( thanks for playing, gonna check your submission out now!
