Opportunities, as I'm viewing it currently, are a way to patch up a problem that crops up occasionally, which is that I struggle to give characters things to *pursue* during the game. This can be done with Secrets but I think formalizing it is a better way. It's a kind of explicit way to do plot threads as well. I might even recombine them with the Threads mechanic itself!

It's basically just meant to be like a shiny thing for players to pursue, basically like an opposite of Threats almost.

That’s a clever way to approach it. I like the idea of Opportunities acting as the opposite of Threats, giving players something exciting to work toward rather than only reacting to problems. Formalizing plot threads could also make it easier for game masters to keep the story moving when players aren't sure what to pursue next.

how has getting Pathwarden in front of the right tabletop RPG players been going so far? Are most people discovering it through itch.io and the existing community, or have you been exploring other ways to reach new players?
