Software used
Phaser 3.90 and TypeScript, built with Vite. Music, sound effects, particles and screen juice come from @higor/jam-kit, my own small library that synthesizes all the audio procedurally. The art is drawn in code with Phaser graphics. Android version wrapped in a WebView with Gradle. AI coding assistants helped write the code.

Use of the limitation
Staying warm is the whole game. Your only resource is the campfire's warmth: it cools down every second and only the leaves you burn keep it alive. Correct answers feed the fire, a streak of them makes each leaf give more heat, and mistakes cost warmth. As autumn turns into an endless winter, the cold gets stronger: snow, cold wind and blizzards make the fire cool faster, so staying warm gets harder every night. The run ends when the fire goes out.

This time, I didn't eat any cookies. =)

Hi!

I feel like you made great use of the limitations, and even though the game is modest in scope, it's charming and fun to play!

Developer

Thanks!! And of course, I had fun checking out your game too!

I'm a big fan of using the num pad on my pc so this was a great game for me! it definitely gets overwhelming but I like the scaling of the complexity of the math! Nice game!

Developer

I'm really glad you enjoyed the increasing difficulty. Finding that balance between challenging and overwhelming was a big part of the fun of making it!

I really like the music for this game.

Developer

Thank you!! I'm really happy you liked the music! I wanted it to help create that cozy atmosphere while everything slowly turns into chaos.

I like math, this game is fun!

Kudos!

Developer

Thank you!! Making math feel fun instead of like homework was definitely one of my goals. Glad it worked!

That was really fun, so far the best game I have played. I made it to 6:04.

Developer

Wow, 6:04?! That's an incredible run! Thank you so much for the kind words! Really happy you had such a good time with it!

The coolest game I've seen here—the concept is just awesome.

Developer

Wow, that's such a huge compliment! Thank you so much!! I'm really happy the concept clicked with you!

Simple loop, clean visuals, nice vibe. Good stuff!

Developer

Thank you! I was aiming for something simple to pick up but increasingly challenging to master. Really glad you enjoyed the overall vibe!

Funny concept, I think it can be a funny game for  children. Graphic style and music good too.

We have a very similar concept hahahaha. Nice art and gameplay! :D

Developer

Hahaha, great minds think alike! It's really cool seeing how similar ideas can turn into different games. Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

Happy with my score, love how the game keeps ramping up and tutorializes itself!

Developer

5:26 and 5,220 points! That's a great run! I'm really happy you enjoyed how the difficulty ramps up, and especially that the mechanics felt natural to learn as you played. That's exactly what I was hoping for! Thanks for playing!

Amazing little game! It felt really nice to play. Good feedback. Also loved how it escalated.

I guess the trick is to focus on the leafs that have the special outlines to get time freezes and slows. But even then after a while my brain goes into overload haha

Very very cool. I don't think I did great but here's what I got:

Developer(+1)

Haha, 5:28 with a streak of 91?! I'd say you did pretty great! And you figured out one of the key strategies! Those special leaves can really save you when things start getting chaotic. But yeah, eventually the real enemy becomes your own brain trying to keep up with everything! Haha.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! Really happy you enjoyed the escalation and the game feel!

Great mix of reflexes and mental quickness :D

Developer

Thank you!! That's exactly the combination I was going for! A little bit of quick thinking, a little bit of panic, and a lot of falling leaves! Haha.

I love the look and sound of this, also how dare you make Math fun!

Developer

Hahaha, making math fun was my secret evil plan all along! Thank you so much! Really happy you enjoyed the visuals and sound too!

Submitted

Good implementation. Also, play my game.

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Another leaves-into-fire game, but with a very unique, mathematical twist! That was a fun and chill experience. Lots of cool small details and feedback like the way leaves get pushed away at wrong answers. Great overall game feel.

Love the style of your sprites too - feels very cozy.

I made a game that is similar in concept but very different in mechanics.

Developer

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback! I'm really glad you noticed the little details, especially the leaves reacting to wrong answers! I wanted even the mistakes to feel playful.

It's also really cool how the same basic idea of keeping a fire alive can lead to completely different gameplay mechanics. That's one of my favorite things about game jams!

Thanks again for playing and for the kind words!
