You can open up the bag icon (Inventory) and select the items tab to drag the TV cable onto the Nightmare TV's bottom right slot. Once done it'll let you turn on the TV with the leftmost button. Gameplay effects: Absolutely nothing. More a proof of concept for the full game i imagine that you can use items on different things later on.
