Any pointers for getting across the river to the Bored Guard in ch.10? Or any side objectives in ch.8?

Unfortunately, the other side of the river is out of reach for Chapter 10, even if it's not out of sight.
As for Chapter 8, there are no side objectives being tracked since it's a flashback chapter.
