Thank you! We are glad you enjoy the game! We wanted to add core Size Mechanics that we thought were fitting for the Size Jam's Theme. We took inspiration from H.P. Lovecraft work, which gave us creative options to play around with.
It's designed to be challenging and feel like old-school Giantess games like "The Diminutive Experience". We did, however, ensure it was completable during our private playtest sessions. So, I wouldn't be surprised if it was frustrating, since this game involves trial and error. To clarify about the ending, there is an ending. You have to survive for 4 minutes. It's basically when the game music ends. After that, you can go back and play an endless mode and share how long you survived.
We didn't want to tell or hint too much. In theory, we assume that it would encourage you to go back to get a better run and come across the ending. We based the theory on our previous testers who played it. There is a difficulty scaler that does make it harder the longer you are in-game.
We didn't have time to work on the Shrinking mechanics. There were supposed to be more elements to support the player experience, such as a bunker that protects you from Astra's attack. We had to make the hard decision to focus most of our time on Astra's gameplay. So if we plan to work on future updates, we will surely try to incorporate the stuff we missed. Honestly, a month to do this type of game is quite a lot of work to pull off, believe it or not. Especially if it's my first time learning about good enemy designs for boss phases and patterns using a Finite State Machine. XD
Thanks for the suggestions. It would have been cool to fight back or dodge roll, but our character, Kris, isn't much of a fighter or an athletic person; I'm afraid. XD
