One of the most interesting concepts I've seen at the jam, presented with great mastery and elegance.

Developer

That's high praise! Much appreciated

Love the ambient and the sound deisgn! Pixel all minimalistic but yet fits the game vibe.

Developer

Thank you!

Cool how you kept adding stuff, however after dying while doing 3 things at the same time and seeing I had to start over from 0, it turns out I learned that I'm not the biggest fan of monotony as-is 😅

lol neither am I, and I'll be honest I made the majority of this in my free time at work and some of my saltiness may have come through.

Hindsight though, I would have had each fire act as a checkpoint to start from if I did this again.

Really fun concept, but it has taught me I suck at multitasking lol

Developer(+1)

lol honestly, in my head it was so much easier than it ended up being in practice

Nicely presented - bit of a tone shift from many other games in this jam. I think you should make it so the sound doesn't keep restarting on every screen transition. Otherwise the aesthetic of the game delivers well on what it's going for. Nice work

Thank you! I definitely agree, honestly sound design was sort of one of the last things I put on the agenda, and by then I didn't really have a system set up with a persistent scene ready for audio. If I were to redo it or make an update I would definitely change the way I handle scene changes for that purpose. Thanks for the feedback!

Games with deep storytelling are always fun. The gameplay played into this quite nicely. Nice game!

Developer

Thank you! Much appreciated, I think it was a bit of a gamble but overall I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
