Another month, another itch app release. Let’s take a look at what we have here for you today. Full release notes are available on GitHub or read on for the highlights.
We’ve brought full collection editing directly into the app. It’s no longer necessary to mess around with the in-app browser if you want to manage collections while using the app. Changes you make to collections within the app are synchronized automatically. You will find a new add to collection dialog where you can bulk manage what collections a particular game is in, or you can create an entirely new collection. On the collection page you can find a new bulk edit dialog that lets you reorder and remove items from a collection in bulk, making organization a breeze.

In the last version of the app we introduced the Steam Shortcuts tool to allow you to add any piece of software you have installed on itch into Steam. We got a lot of great feedback from people who tested this feature and we have pushed out a bunch of fixes to make it work smoothly across more Steam installation and profile scenarios.
Additionally, we’ve added support for creating shortcuts that run through Proton within Steam. The end -to-end experience is now fully functional: you can install Windows games on Linux via itch, and then add them to Steam to be launched with Proton. Perfect for those who are using a Steam Deck and may have picked up a few bundles over the years.
This version comes with Butler v15.32.0, full of bug fixes and other enhancements. Check the full release notes for more info:
We’ve got a sneak peek of something else we’ve been working on: the itch donk. Low-powered Linux retro game handhelds are very available these days. We thought, well, why not put the itch app on one of those? Most of these devices are designed for running retro ROMs and itch.io happens to have thousands (if not tens of thousands) of ROMs ready to be played. We also tested native Linux ARM builds and a few game engines like LÖVE, and they work surprisingly well.
Part of this new app is a project to scan every single uploaded file to tag what platforms or runtimes are compatible. We still have quite a bit of work to do, but we hope to share more in a future update.

Enjoy!

Its good to play
interesting
Will it be available for MustardOS only?
I wish “Add to Collection” will also become “Add/Remove to Collections” on Itch Website.
I can’t have Itch App on Mobile.
respect ok
With all due respect.. yet another SBC Linux was your focus? And not tag exclusion??
There is a Workaround only for Firefox. Permanently hiding Tags really should be built into itch, so that it works in itch App.
I love the sound of that last part. I have an Android tablet. Technically the chip is a 64bit chip. But because Samsung only put 2gb ram in it they locked the image to 32bit. So if I could run a low powered itch app on it that would be amazing
why name it donk? idk but im sure that it will eventually reach SpruceOS
I'd love a donk. Is there anywhere to sign up for updates other than subscribing to this blog?
looks awesome
