Here's my actual lil review of the new update:
There doesn't seem to be any mega evolution options anymore, is this intentional? I don't see any of them when making my teams.
Also while I'm here I want to bring up a few balancing things:
AoE moves like Earthquake deal a lot of damage and are harder to avoid, I think increasing their cooldowns to maybe 10 seconds would help a lot. Or give it a longer start up animation like a little jump before the quake happens.
Moves like waterfall would do better if they had the same dashing feature as Extreme Speed. It also helps Pokemon that are slow be more competitive as they get a second movement option to fight against faster Pokemon
Desperate need of physical Ice moves. Icicle Crash, Avalanche, Ice Fang, Ice Hammer, Ice Shard
**Please remove the pre-match info of showing both players team in online lobbies**
Controller feels good but remappable buttons would be nice, or at least better button layout. Switching feels a little bad when you can't manually choose who you want to send out. I think if we can't have controller remapping, at least change it to like hold down LS, then press A, Y or B
Moves that increase damage can be stacked really fast. I think increasing the cooldown will help
You already saw a lot of the things I mentioned prior, but I'll just mention it again just to keep everything in one list.
This is more so things to hope for on the next update or the one after:
Haze, Roost, Morning Sun, Moonlight, Synthesis, Soft Boiled
Haze helps allow defensive play to be more relevant by stopping the Pokemon that attack for a lot of damage with boosting moves, the other things allow longevity for tanky Pokemon
More team slots! Too many Pokemon, too many team ideas, only one slot
(I've been saying this a lot) 6v6, only because I think it'd make a more balanced scene. 3v3 is really easy to get overwhelmed in due to some team compositions having enough synergy to absolutely destroy everything they fight, and once stat buffs have been applied its easy to sweep;
tldr limited team building makes it easier for strong Pokemon to beat everything, I think a toggle between 3v3/6v6 when making the lobby would be nice.
EVs/Ivs would just help the game overall since it helps make different Pokemon more viable, with there only being a little amount of abilities implemented
Held Items, but its low on the list for a reason
Been playing a lot with friends, we enjoy this game hella can't wait to see more, but it feels like a lot of steps forward were made, and a few steps back with the removal of megas and the change of adding team previews
