thank you so much, this was such a wonderful thing to read… i’m glad the parents felt realistic/the sprite inclusion was worthwhile, i understand wanting to hand wave parents for narratives but i think that for young protags they have such an impact on everything they think and feel.. especially for a character as stifled as sarah.
when i was brainstorming this story i made a lot of notes about Why people get into a story that just does not care about women, especially when they are women, and one that really hit for me was that if women aren’t there, you don’t have to think about being there yourself, it just becomes total fantasy. so i’m glad that came through and you mentioned that in your comment.
