A very interesting game! There's a lot of dedication placed towards the sheer number of animations and varied CGs. I encourage anyone who might be a little skeptical about the 'layton' art style to still give it a shot-- while it is kind of 'cutesy' most of the time, it makes the couple of unsettling moments stand out. The thing which encouraged me to try this, and the part that I found most visually striking, were the vividly colorful cosmic horror elements present during the scene where Oswald is running, and immediately after. Also, I loved how immediately you're slammed with something very surreal and scary happening in the very first scene.

The mystery story is very classic and well executed, as you follow a great detective and even have a big 'reveal' scene at the end. Personally, I prefer when mysteries are completely solvable by the reader and unfortunately needing to know that the poison gas smells like corn wasn't seeded anywhere in the VN to my knowledge.

A few things lost me a little in the 3rd act-- "phantasia" gets thrown around a lot even though it's not actually a commonplace word, so it initially gave me an incorrect impression (I thought that the bunker scene was revealing that Ms. Sol was actually imagining this entire detective story and the mysterious woman was going to suddenly ruin it and destroy everyone like she did in the first scene.) I wish the cosmic horror and mysterious woman had gotten a little more payoff, it felt like we had some build in that direction only to revert back to a normal detective novel ending. But that's all personal preference.

I think this is really impressive work and very polished! Great job!

Thank you for playing it! I think your points are very fair, there was a lot on the horror side i had to leave out mainly bc it was sprits/cgs i didn't have time to finish, but i plan to update the project so  the cosmic horror pays off more at the end and tweak a few things so the pacing/mystery is better.
