I decided to make these games as a hobby a few years back. It was a creative outlet that resulted in pornographic horror that I was quite fond of.

Then in august 2025, after a turbulently slow and unfocussed development, red threads was paused due to the Visa and Mastercard situation with itch io. I tried to take the opportunity to make a game with small scope and learn to create custom assets alongside.

I think that was going quite well. Slow, but I was very happy with my progress.

Now, the UK government has decided to pass a new law turning many of the scenes in both red threads and checked out into chargeable offenses.

The law is called the Crime and Policing Act 2026: Offences relating to pornography.

Sadly, if you live in the UK, I'd recommend deleting the game.

Could I just remove those scenes? With a good bit of work, yes. Until next year, when the restrictions are broadened.

I may tweak the games to become compliant. I may just move on. I don't know yet.

The Patreon is paused for one month, I will leave the games up for the next week or so but expect them to disappear by the 6th of November.
