So cute, loved the contrast of cosy autumn foraging and furiously fleeing a butterfly (those pesky beasts). You're artstyle is so pleasing :3

Rly polished and i love the art style!

Developer

Thank you :D

This is so polished for only two weeks of work!! The art is such eye candy!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! :D That means so much, it took me hours every day to finish the game, so I'm glad you like it :)

Amazingly cozy game! Loved the theme, and you used the limitation perfectly. Even though I did think the butterfly appeared too quickly, it added great urgency to the gameplay loop; I was always trying to fake it out haha. The art was absolutely fantastic, too. Great work!

Even though the butterfly´s appearance rate was to high in my opinion, the game overall fits the theme and limitation perfectly. It was relaxing (apart from the butterfly sometimes) to play and after I understood the mechanics it also became easier with the time.
Overall, a really good game for this jam. Keep up the work.

Developer

Thank you for your comment! Yeah, I think the butterfly code should be tweaked a bit, lol. But I'm glad you gave my game a chance :D

I guess that´s what game jams are about.
Actually completing a game, getting feedback, helping other with your own feedback and getting inspired...

I played 4 games until now and already got inspired by two of them (yours is one of them) to use floating leaves (or in general particles) for the ambience.
Btw. I love your profile name and picture. No idea how you came up with this, but it is really good.

Thank you, this was my first game jam and I feel like I did a lot that I thought I could never do, so that means a lot. Also, I like your username too :D.

Cool, it´s also my first :D
I really liked it so I will probably participate in another one sometime later this year.

Absolutely Gorgeous!! Took me few minutes to understand the gameplay, I could click on anything with any tool and it didn’t seem to work. I had to take some time going through description, restarting the game to reread the first instuctions, etc. Maybe for the first fisrt level, making only mushroom appears, giving us already 2 tools and the default one being the one we don’t need, would’ve help the player grasp what the written instructions means, more smoothly? also the basket being coded like any normal tool makes it a bit confusing. That said, I may be the one who is a bit slow 👀

Once I got the gameplay, it all ran smooth for me! the butterfly was indeed anoying, but the game makes it clear that is is as annoying as you want it to be so GG! xD

Super cute game, and I insist, the art is phenomenal ✨

Developer

Thank you so much for replying! I agree with what you said about the learning curve, I guess I just wanted to make every item be consistent and need a specific tool, but that can result in confusion. I definitely wished I had play-tested it with other people first, but thank you for your post!  Also thanks for liking the art, definitely the part I worked on the hardest, :D

love the art, text look, and the atmosphere! although, I do feel like the frequency of the butterfly did hurt my enjoyment. I’d be fine with it if there were a way to defend myself, like a fly swatter!

very pretty game, though :>

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the point about the butterfly is so valid. I was frustrated with coding the inventory so I gave up on a bug swatter mechanic I worked on... but I'm glad you liked the art :D

Submitted(+1)

neat that you thought of adding one though. yeah the art is so atmospheric, I just checked who drew it and I was surprised that you’re a one-person team!! impressive work ^^

do you typically like to draw? I’m an artist myself and I’d love to check out more of your work

Developer(+1)

Yeah!! It was just me lol. I probably spent 4 hours+ every day for these two weeks just on this game, and the art took so much time :P. I have my website linked in the description of my game and I have a lot of my art and projects that I've done there. I also mostly do TikTok content with fan art and such. Also tomorrow morning I'm going to review your game too! :D

Took 16 minutes to finish! Art is really good. Butterfly was annoying but still pretty manageable. If I get hit there's a bit of time of no butterfly which helps to settle things down for a bit.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, the butterfly is pretty annoying, my friends got so mad haha, that's why I at least added a marker to show where the butterfly was coming from, but it is still frustrating. Glad you like the art, though! Definitely the main aspect I worked on lol.

That dang butterfly keeps getting me! Nice pixel art and music, had fun.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm glad you like the art and music, the coding was honestly the most challenging since I hated handling the inventory system, but I'm glad you had fun :)
