I loved this game so much! It's relaxing and challenging at the same time, and really satisfying. I enjoyed the colors, mechanics, and smooth interaction. Well done!!!
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed it.
Concept: it's simple but it works well with the theme.
Gameplay: simple but fun, it doesn't drag on and is well balanced. Very polished gameplay loop, I like it a lot. AI code does knock a bit off my rating though.
Art: simple but nicely polished and fits the game really well.
Audio: the sfx are good and very fitting for the gameplay and the artsyle. I kinda missed a short intense background track to give a bit more gamefeel though.
It's a pretty good submission overall, simple but very well polished. Nicely done all round!
Bring the Geese Home, version for the Dead :)
Well-made, simple, it's a shame it's short and doesn't surprise us during gameplay. The game loop is straightforward: you approach a grave, raise a skeleton, and then face a choice—either take a risk and head toward another grave, or play it safe and return the skeleton immediately. Of course, the "safe" option costs you time, and time is in short supply. I wonder if a time limit is actually necessary here. Since the goal is to score points, perhaps—instead of relying on time pressure—you could find a more immersive way to ramp up the challenge. For instance, you could have the number of hostile spirits gradually increase. That would make the "dash" ability much more useful and give more weight to your movement skills. Just a casual suggestion!
Thank you so much for playing, and for the kind words! Really glad the raise-and-bank loop landed for you. The escalating spirits idea is a fun one — I've noted it, and I appreciate you taking the time to share it. Happy jamming! 🎃
Cool concept and quite satisfying to play, but very short! Thanks for jamming with us :)
Thank you so much for playing, and for hosting such a fun jam!
Very cute game idea and the sounds effects were a nice addition; I appreciated that the reaper spawned on the opposite side of the screen as well. Great work!
Thank you so much! Really glad you liked the idea.
I had a lot of fun for the brief runtime. The inclusion of a hard mode was very nice as well. Love the touch of having names on the gravestones. Nice work!
Thank you so much! Glad you liked the hard mode and the gravestone names.
Quite fun but very short.
Thank you for playing! Glad you had fun.
The games was little quick, I found a couple errors, when I started the game the character that you move, started moving alone, it was little scary but I enjoyed it!
Thanks for flagging that! It's fixed now — the tap that starts the game was also registering as a steering touch, so the keeper set off toward it on his own. Glad you enjoyed it anyway! 🪦
So quick, usage of ai will make me lower the final score
Hi! We suspect this game must have been started before the jam began, as it was submitted so quickly. If not, please let us know and explain :) Thank you
Hi! Happy to explain — GRAVE TITHE was designed and built today, October 16, during the jam.
I build with AI assistance, which I disclosed on the submission form exactly as the rules ask: the code was written with AI help, and all art and audio are procedural, generated in code at runtime. That's honestly how it came together so fast — it's a single HTML file built around the NECROMANCY theme.
The timestamps are all public, if you'd like to check: the game file was created today at 1:20 PM EDT, and the GitHub repo was created today at 1:49 PM EDT with all 19 commits from today — the whole build and tuning history is in the open: https://github.com/retroromrunner/grave-tithe
Nothing was started before the jam began. I get why the quick submission looked suspicious, and I'm glad to answer anything else — please let me know if the entry can be reinstated. Thank you!
Okay thank you, that all makes sense! I have reinstated the submission. Thanks! :)
