Thinking this is like an over-tuned flappy bird/ dino jump game with an interaction twist in game play - also with mysteric environment and real ideas for a story cartoon.

There are much detail Graphics in the game World, but also there is also not much time to pay attention into details. So if this would be non-auto scroller game, there could be more time to "watch the art"/pay attention at the details".

Game fits the both as a game; adult and children, well. "Off the table" when finished stage also a very clever impression, imo; cleared the stage, but also "skipped it at dinner".

Not sure if i got the story correct (before reading any instructions about game's lore); unlucky roaster got the chick pregnant just before the kingdom farm slaughter days, so the roaster has to try to save whole family while the chick is too weak to walk but just round to be rolled.

In game also liked the idea of "interaction" twist for grab hooks - maybe even suitable for doors/gates, explosions, upgrades, gadgets/item swap or pick up, parachutes, teleport, or something like that beside the jumping.

I would recommend to add life points and/or checkpoints at least for a game mode version or just into easy mode as an addition, and for a reasons:

- under the each hook point/bat there are always a pit (death), and not sure how much power should to reach over it- so failure often happens, and

- each estimation miss match failure takes game backwards 30 second for a repetition - so the checkpoint would with before each set of traps (Player could have Limited lives/ retries times before patrial/complete level restart?), and

- since you already have included the checkpoints in the game, adding more check points would be easy to test out for game play.

Also highly would recommend (-> i missed) the mouse controls for pc version; right click to interact and left mouse button for the jump. Mouse controls would be suitable addition for a reaction-based game.

An idea for trap details: traps or trap variations would be dark/or Black out, but have shine around it. When chicken touch trap item, trap being reveal / launched (-> death trap action begin) - can be knife, hammer, gun, flame, ice, or weapons like that. Player could find out different deaths/traps, so chickens being trapped/killed would not be "only punishment", but also reveal something new (and even laughable) to player at the same time.

In my opinion this is a ready-to-launch game title, especially for android/ios devices, after maybe few difficulty/game speed/graphic tuning (i think the ground platform graphic is too dark/pixelated right now)

Reminds Zombie tsunami or Jetpack joyride games, but with twists based/related for this title.

Not a "flappy bird"- game because this include much more content and depth.

After launch could need more playable content, also monetization.

Wow, thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review!
This is exactly the kind of feedback that helps a game grow, and I read every line 🙏

Your story theory made my day 😄😂😂😂😂😂😂
Actually the hen and rooster are the main course at the Goblin King’s Halloween feast. When the lid comes off, the rooster realises “WE’RE the food?!”, jumps on the hen’s head, and they make a run for it. I honestly like your version more😂😂😂😂😂, it’s very cartoon-worthy!
...
Now for the deep cool notes! some of your points line up with what I’m already looking at:

  • More checkpoints / lives in Easy mode: You’re right about the pits under the hooks and bats, and losing 30 seconds for one missed timing hurts. I’ll test adding more checkpoints before the tricky sections.
  • Mouse controls: Great suggestion, and I agree it fits a reaction game. It’s on my list for after the jam, together with touch controls for mobile.
  • Ground graphics: Thanks for pointing this out. I’ll look at making it lighter and easier to read.

The hidden trap reveal idea is brilliant. Turning deaths into something new and funny to discover, instead of just a punishment, is a really smart way to keep players retrying. More uses for the interact button (gates, gadgets, parachutes) is another idea I’ll keep in mind.

Being compared to Zombie Tsunami and Jetpack Joyride, and hearing you think it could launch on mobile, means a lot. That’s really encouraging for where I want to take it next.

Thanks again for taking the time to play and write all of this! 🐔
