Hi! I really like your Pixel Art Portraits pack and I’d love to use it in my game.

It’s Buitres, a small satirical incremental game about housing speculation in Spain, made in Godot. I’m planning to release it on Steam as a paid game (around €3–5), with a free browser demo on itch.io.

Before buying, I wanted to check a few things:

  1. Can I use the portraits in a commercial game sold on Steam?
  2. Is it OK to edit them (recolor them to match the game’s palette, small tweaks to clothes or hair)?
  3. Can I use a few portraits in the Steam store page, capsule art and trailer?
  4. How would you like to be credited?

Of course I won’t redistribute the files themselves. Thanks a lot, and great work!

Hello,
thank you for reaching out.

1- Yes, the assets in this pack, once purchased, can be used commercially.
2- You can edit the sprites if you feel like it will better suit your game.
3- You can use the portraits in the steam store page, capsule art and trailer, although, if you are going to edit them as per item #2, it might be better for you to use said edited versions so it matches what your potential customers will see in-game, I imagine.
4- Crediting me in traditional fashion and obvious manner (credits roll, credit screen, etc) should be enough.

Yes, the files themselves are not to be redistributed. Once again, I am glad you enjoy these and best of luck with your project!

Thank you so much for the quick and clear answer! That’s everything I needed.

I’ll buy the pack today and make sure you’re properly credited in the game’s credits screen. I’ll send you a link once the Steam page is up, in case you’d like to see your portraits in action.

Thanks again, and best of luck with your work!
