Fantastic art style with a fun, cozy little loop. I played for about 15 days before taking a break to rate/leave my feedback. During my time with the game so far, I found my stress melting away as I hunted for new fossils with each new day. The loop was easy to understand and I liked the progression system, but I wanted more tension or for the loop to evolve or somehow change as I continued to collect more and more fossils. Overall it's really nice, and I LOVE the behind-the-scenes footage y'all shared on the game page as well.

Some thoughts on potential improvements:

  • I feel like your hit boxes for player interactions were a little too generous at times—on several occasions I accidentally found myself triggering my home base/unexpectedly ending my day, once right after starting a new day even. This applied to digging up spots on the beach, too, where it felt like I should have been a little closer to the digging spot before I'd be able to check for a fossil.
  • The audio is pleasing, but the background music loop is a little repetitive after several days in a row. You've got great ambient SFX already going  in the background, and I'd be curious to see how your game would be experienced differently if you relied less on having a constant BGM loop and instead only played the music at key transitions. Alternatively more variation in tracks would help, too!

Thanks for the feedback! I had a play tester mention that the hitboxes were too generous and I definitely agree, I think the interaction area should have just been in front of the player character. I think having a team member for composing would definitely be something interesting for a future jam
