The art is very lovely, and it was a good way to use the theme to drive the gameplay, since in autumn it is the main season we have fallen leaves. I liked the idea of it being a horror game of some sort, but for me, it didnât really work.
As others have pointed out, the broom controls arenât very good, even tho I liked how it worked and the idea can be improved. Maybe having a way to change the direction that the broom is pointing to? Since not being able to change did make some leaves be stuck in corners of the map. Also, making the leaves go 90° degrees of the players would be better, since currently it feels like they go in a diagonal? I did have some fun when I got used to it and was able to move piles of leaves easily.
The horror can also work, but having the scary items be visible easily removed the surprise of them, probably making them fully covered by piles of leaves would have helped a lot. And it would be better to the items to vanish when they are off-screen, instead of having the static overlay show up without any explanation.
For, what it seems like, a first game, it is very good and has potential into being a joyful cozy-horror game to play. Unfortunately I wasnât able to finish it, I did the farmerâs work and in the middle of the butcherâs task, my browser tab closed, and I didnât have it in me to do it all again, sorry for that :â(
