i made it into a mechanic where you need to be close to a campfire to be warm and not freeze to death

So this reminds me of another game I played this entry where you play as a chandelier. It had similar one button controls, but they also had a "speed up" button so the rotation would be faster. I actually like your idea better of having the direction of the rotation change every time you press space, because this actually lets you go through some corners better and faster if you are good 😊

Having said that, there's a couple of things in this game that make it feel a bit unfair. The first thing is that the indicator for where you will jump is often offscreen so you can't see it. And the frog constantly flips upside down to make sure it is straight up. And then, the amount of distance the frog jumps can't be controlled so if you want to avoid a small snake tile, it sometimes becomes almost impossible 😅

I think this could be a good game but you need to be a bit more forgiving to the player. Hard games are fine, but not if they feel unfair to the player.

Don't take this as negative, just trying to give you feedback on how I felt while playing your game :-) I think you have a good idea but it needs a bit more working. Keep it up!

THANKS FOR COMMENTING. I took your advice, but im not the best at programing so i didnt make the indicator stay on screen always, but i made a help arrow so its easier to see what direction the frog will jump.

The distance the frog jumps i wanted to be uncontolable. I feel like if you could control it, the game would be too easy.  In this version you have to align yourself and time the jump. witch i feel is what i want. This is supposed to be a Rage game so i feel like i achived that with the movement already made.

Im happy you commented i love getting comments that tell me what could be improved. I wonder how far you got into the game before you quited. Maybe give it another try ;)

Hi!

I gave it a try, but I had a hard time figuring out the mechanics, maybe because I'm not familiar with this type of game.

Would you say that if i made the direction in witch your character is faceing more noticeable It would be easier to figure out how to play?

Hi Zabbbba!
I have to say, I had a hard time figuring out the mechanics, even after watching the tutorial and looking at the reference images. I tried playing it with my wife, and we eventually figured out that pressing the spacebar at the right moment lets you move around the map. But even then, we struggled to make progress, perhaps because we couldn't get the game to run in a larger window, and the learning curve didn't feel very natural to us!

Best!

lol you put a disclaimer on the art but at least we can tell it’s human made, I don’t think it detracted from the game much. Definitely a challenging game, tested my patience (I have very little lol) but I like the concept. Keep it up! And congrats on an entry 💪
