Maybe I'm a freak but I got the controls down right away. Cool art and a simple but effective loop. Would pay $999,999,999.99 for this probably.
The giant eyeball is amazing. I agree with others that theres a bit too much visual clutter, it was hard to tell what was in the fore/back/midground. the controls took me a bit to adjust to, but i grew to love the movement. a little noise for picking up items and killing enemies wouldve been a nice touch, but it was still a nice game regardless :-)
Amazing art! I really loved the UI design and the eyeballs and aliens. Really no notes there.
The background being as busy as it was made it hard to know what to pay attention to and I often found myself running into barriers not really seeing them.
I wished my ship had a rocket boost and that the bullets were faster than my ship and had some more juice behind them, but I’m also itching for you to release chapter 2 immediately.
That giant eyeball blinking in the back SPEAKS to me. i love it. everything else is short and sweet, but I think you've got a good base loop set to build off of if you so wanted! The music also slaaaaps
Sometimes you're a robot spaceship guy and that's how it is:)
As other commenters have noticed, great music and fun visuals. I do think the mechanics could be more responsive- a definite sense of when shots hit enemies, and maybe just one more enemy type to add a bit more variety. Overall, some room to grow with the mechanics, but there's still plenty in here to feel proud of!
Super striking visually! It would maybe be nice to have the camera zoomed out a little more - I liked how momentum-based the movement was, but it was too easy to overshoot and hit a wall when the camera was in so close that it was difficult to see what was coming up in front of you. Maybe lead the camera in front of the player's movement to make things more visible in that direction. The background being so vibrant and having so much motion was also a bit disorienting, though - it was difficult to tell at times what movement was my own speed vs the asteroids in the background. The designs are awesome though! Would love to see more challenging enemies or objectives, maybe some more reactive or destructible objects like asteroids in the foreground or something, and some feedback when you hit enemies.
I think the game bugged out eventually but the music was bopping dude yes!!!!

Thats a sick background! Controls feel good if a bit slippery, but would love to see a bit more response to the events happening in the game. Something to indicate that I took damage, or when a shot lands on an enemy. Speed was also a bit hard to gauge with the paralax background. Nice job
Really cool art! I wish some enemies had more health or shot back at you for more challenge. Awesome game tho altogether!
I like the eyeball!!!! And the live driver reaction cam in the top left. Wish there was more to do, but this is really freaking sick
This art is gorgeous! The slippery nature of the controls could be interesting with some more challenging scenarios, like building up speed in a direction and then spinning to shoot backwards while keeping most of the momentum felt fun to do in the sandbox but having more pressure from the enemies to pull a maneuver like that would be neat. Also changing your noun on the itch page is underrated, exciting to see your next Million Dollar Game.
I really like the art, especially the character portrait in the top left. feel like there could be more objectives or something that makes it harder as it goes on but still fun!
The art was cool but visually disorienting, I had a hard time telling where my ship was so I bumped into some walls. Not much of a challenge to the game. I liked the character art portrait, reminds me of Cave Story.
