Hey everyone!

I'm a solo indie developer working on a physics-based fighting game in Unity 6.

I already have a playable prototype featuring physics-based punches, dynamic facial injuries, blood effects, ragdoll knockdowns, and AI opponents.

I'm looking for a 3D artist who can also create character animations to join me as a creative collaborator.

Ideally, you have experience with:

  • Blender and 3D modeling
  • Character rigging and animation
  • Creating combat animations and fighting stances
  • Modeling weapons, clothing, and environments
  • Exporting models and animations into Unity

You don't need to be an expert in everything. I'm mainly looking for someone who enjoys game development and wants to help build something interesting.

About the project:

My long-term goal is to create an online fighting game featuring competitive matches, realistic physics, dynamic injuries, weapons, character customization, and destructible clothing.

About compensation:

This is currently an unpaid hobby collaboration. I don't have a salary budget, and future earnings are not guaranteed.

I'm not looking for free labor. I'm looking for a genuine development partner who wants to contribute creatively and help shape the project.

Before beginning commercial development together, we would discuss and agree in writing on responsibilities, ownership of contributed work, and potential revenue sharing.

I will continue actively developing the game myself.

I can share screenshots, gameplay footage, and a private playable prototype.

If you're interested, feel free to DM me and share some examples of your work!

Content warning: Graphic violence and blood.

Just wanted to add a little more about the kind of person I'm looking for and how I'd like our collaboration to work.

I'm an independent game developer currently building a physics-based fighting game in Unity.

I'm looking for a 3D artist who can also help with character animations, rigging, weapons, clothing, and environments.

I'm not looking for an employee or someone to do all the work for me. I'm looking for a genuine creative partner who is passionate about game development.

Ideally, we could become friends, share ideas, develop this game together, and maybe even build more games as a small indie team in the future.

About compensation:

I currently don't have a budget for upfront salaries. However, I want my collaborator to receive a fair share of the game's revenue starting from the first commercial earnings, without having to wait indefinitely for the project to become profitable.

I'm willing to make this official through a written agreement covering revenue sharing, payment terms, responsibilities, and ownership of contributed work.

The exact percentage would be discussed together and agreed upon before beginning serious development.

Of course, commercial success isn't guaranteed, and I want to be completely transparent about that.

I'm actively developing the game myself, and I'm looking for someone who genuinely believes in the project and wants to help shape its future.

I can share gameplay footage, screenshots, and a private playable prototype.

If you're interested, feel free to send me a DM. I'd love to talk!

You're free to use any tools you prefer, including AI tools, Blender, and other software. I don't mind how the work is created, as long as the final result is high-quality, works properly in Unity, and can legally be used in a commercial game.

Physics punches with dynamic facial injuries and ragdoll knockdowns already working in a prototype is a fun thing to recruit with. I founded ComposerScout, a free site where game devs post who they need and the artists who fit get it in their inbox. Post the 3D artist and animator role there as a hobby project (or hobby with possible rev share, both are options), and people open to hobby work see it first. Takes about a minute. It's free to be on, and I don't take a cut of anything you pay people. We'd love to feature your game there: https://composerscout.com/#post
