Looking for a 3D Modeler & Animator for an Indie Horror Game (UE5)

Type: Hobby Project / Unpaid Initially / Potential Revenue Share

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for a skilled 3D modeler and animator to help me create an atmospheric indie horror game in Unreal Engine 5.

This is a small passion project, and I'm looking for someone who enjoys making horror games and wants to help bring an interesting idea to life.

🎮 Game Concept

The game takes place in an ordinary city after a mysterious and powerful solar flare.

Following the event, people begin becoming infected, and the city slowly descends into chaos.

The player lives in an apartment on the top floor of a residential building. The main objective is to survive.

Outside the apartment windows, various disturbing and unpredictable events will happen:

  • Street fights and violent attacks.
  • Stabbings and other crimes.
  • Car crashes and traffic accidents.
  • Infected people behaving strangely.
  • Screaming, gunshots, and mysterious noises.
  • Unexplained and terrifying events happening throughout the city.

Sometimes, strangers will knock on your apartment door, scream, beg for help, or desperately ask to be let inside.

But you won't let anyone in.

However, staying inside forever won't be possible. At certain points, the player will have to leave the apartment and explore the dangerous streets.

The main focus is on atmosphere, tension, unpredictable situations, and survival rather than constant jumpscares.

🛠 Who Am I Looking For?

I'm mainly looking for one skilled 3D artist who can also create animations.

Ideally, you should be able to:

  • Create 3D models of characters, infected people, monsters, objects, and environments.
  • Make creepy and realistic horror animations.
  • Animate unnatural walking, twitching, crawling, falling, attacks, and disturbing character movements.
  • Work with character rigging and animation.
  • Help create frightening scenes and unusual events.

You don't need to be a professional at everything. Intermediate skills in other areas are completely fine.

Blueprint knowledge is NOT required.

Using AI tools, existing assets, free models, and other resources is completely fine, as long as we have permission to use them.

You don't have to create everything from scratch.

What matters most is the final result and the motivation to finish the project.

🎨 Visual Style

I'm not aiming for AAA graphics.

The game will have a visual style inspired by indie horror games, featuring:

  • PS1/PSX-style graphics.
  • Simple low-poly models.
  • Dark and atmospheric lighting.
  • Grainy camera effects.
  • Creepy animations and environments.

I'm more interested in creating a terrifying atmosphere and enjoyable gameplay than achieving photorealistic graphics.

💰 Revenue & Release

This is currently an unpaid hobby project.

However, if the game starts generating revenue, the earnings will be shared between team members based on percentages we agree on beforehand.

The plan is to release the game on itch.io first.

If the game receives positive feedback and attracts players, we may also release it on Steam in the future.

There is no guaranteed income. We're simply trying to create something interesting together.

🎥 Development Videos

I'll also be recording and posting development videos from time to time.

These videos will showcase:

  • New gameplay mechanics.
  • Character models and animations.
  • Creepy events and scenes.
  • Development progress.
  • Updates and improvements.

Hopefully, this will help us build an audience before the game is released.

🎯 Our Goal

The goal is to create a small but complete indie horror game that people will genuinely enjoy playing.

We're not trying to make a massive AAA project.

Atmosphere, gameplay, interesting events, and actually finishing the game are our main priorities.

Project Details

Engine: Unreal Engine 5

Genre: Indie Horror / Survival Horror / Psychological Horror

Looking for: Skilled 3D Modeler & Animator (one person who can do both)

Experience: Good 3D modeling and animation skills; intermediate skills in other areas are fine

Payment: Unpaid hobby project / Potential revenue share

Release Platforms: itch.io, possibly Steam in the future

If you're interested in this idea and would like to help create an atmospheric indie horror game, feel free to send me a private message!

I'd love to find someone who is passionate about horror games and wants to create something memorable together.

Hi! I'm a game developer who uses AI to build games, and I already have experience creating game projects. I can develop games quickly, sometimes even within a single day, depending on their complexity.

I'm interested in your offer and would be happy to create a game for your platform.

I'd just like to clarify a few things:

  1. How are the AI credits/tokens provided? Do you give developers a separate account with credits, or do you add them to our personal accounts?
  2. Are the credits provided before development starts, during development, or only after the game is completed?
  3. Is there a limit on the number of credits, and which AI services are supported?

I'd be happy to hear more details!

hi

Just to clarify, is only the initial briefing free, or would creating the PNG menu concept also be free? I'm currently working on an unpaid indie project, so I'd like to understand the terms before we start. 😄

Hey everyone!

I'm an indie developer currently working on a physics-based fighting game in Unity 6, and I'm looking for a few creative people who might be interested in building it together.

The game already has a playable prototype, including:

  • Physics-based punches and combat
  • AI opponents that can fight back
  • Dynamic bruises, swelling, cuts, and blood effects
  • Ragdoll physics and knockdowns
  • Weapons and an early fighting arena

The long-term goal is to create a competitive online fighting game with matchmaking, ranked battles, weapons, character customization, and cosmetic skins.

Who I'm looking for

1. UI/UX Designer / Unity UI Developer

Someone who can help create:

  • A polished main menu
  • Settings and controls menus
  • Character and weapon selection
  • Matchmaking and pre-fight lobby interfaces
  • Health bars, match results, and other gameplay UI

Experience with Unity UI Toolkit or uGUI would be especially useful.

2. 3D Artist / Blender Animator

Someone who can help with:

  • Character models and materials
  • Rigging and fixing skeleton issues
  • Fighting stances and combat animations
  • Weapons, clothing, and arenas
  • Exporting models and animations from Blender to Unity

You don't need to be an expert in everything. Experience in even one of these areas would be helpful.

About collaboration

I'm actively developing the game myself, focusing on the combat mechanics, physics, AI, and injury systems.

I'm not looking for employees or people to do all the work for me. I'd love to find creative partners who genuinely enjoy game development, want to share ideas, and might even become long-term teammates and friends.

You're welcome to use AI tools, Blender, Unity, Figma, or any other software you're comfortable with. What matters is the quality of the result, compatibility with the game, and having the necessary rights to use the assets commercially.

Compensation

This is currently an unpaid hobby collaboration, as I don't have a budget for upfront salaries.

However, if we decide to work together on a commercial release, I'd like to arrange a fair revenue-sharing agreement, with payments starting from the first eligible commercial earnings rather than waiting indefinitely for profit.

We would agree on the exact percentages, responsibilities, payment terms, and ownership of contributed work in writing before starting serious collaboration.

Commercial success is not guaranteed, and I want to be transparent about that.

Interested?

I can share screenshots, gameplay footage, and a private playable prototype.

If you're interested in UI design, 3D art, animation, or just want to discuss the project, feel free to reply here or send me a message!

Content warning: The game contains graphic violence and blood.

Thanks for reading!

Hey! Sure, I'd love to discuss everything in more detail! 😄

Do you have Discord? You can send me your username, or add me: dukpuk_44261.

I'm currently developing a physics-based fighting game in Unity. I already have a playable prototype featuring AI opponents, physics-based combat, and dynamic injuries.

I'm hoping to build a small indie team where we can share ideas, develop the game together, and potentially work on more projects in the future.

I'd also love to hear more about your experience and what kind of development you specialize in!

By the way, I'm currently looking for someone who can help with 3D character animations, rigging, and creating fighting arenas. If you have experience in any of these areas, I'd be really happy to collaborate!

And if you happen to know someone who enjoys 3D modeling or animation and might be interested in joining a small indie project, I'd really appreciate an introduction.

I'm also open to collaborating on UI, menus, and other parts of the game, depending on your skills and interests.

No pressure at all — I'd be happy to just chat, show you what I've built so far, and exchange ideas! 😄

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo indie developer working on a physics-based fighting game in Unity 6.

I already have a playable prototype featuring physics-based punches, dynamic facial injuries, blood effects, ragdoll knockdowns, and AI opponents.

I'm looking for a 3D artist who can also create character animations to join me as a creative collaborator.

Ideally, you have experience with:

  • Blender and 3D modeling
  • Character rigging and animation
  • Creating combat animations and fighting stances
  • Modeling weapons, clothing, and environments
  • Exporting models and animations into Unity

You don't need to be an expert in everything. I'm mainly looking for someone who enjoys game development and wants to help build something interesting.

About the project:

My long-term goal is to create an online fighting game featuring competitive matches, realistic physics, dynamic injuries, weapons, character customization, and destructible clothing.

About compensation:

This is currently an unpaid hobby collaboration. I don't have a salary budget, and future earnings are not guaranteed.

I'm not looking for free labor. I'm looking for a genuine development partner who wants to contribute creatively and help shape the project.

Before beginning commercial development together, we would discuss and agree in writing on responsibilities, ownership of contributed work, and potential revenue sharing.

I will continue actively developing the game myself.

I can share screenshots, gameplay footage, and a private playable prototype.

If you're interested, feel free to DM me and share some examples of your work!

Content warning: Graphic violence and blood.

Just wanted to add a little more about the kind of person I'm looking for and how I'd like our collaboration to work.

I'm an independent game developer currently building a physics-based fighting game in Unity.

I'm looking for a 3D artist who can also help with character animations, rigging, weapons, clothing, and environments.

I'm not looking for an employee or someone to do all the work for me. I'm looking for a genuine creative partner who is passionate about game development.

Ideally, we could become friends, share ideas, develop this game together, and maybe even build more games as a small indie team in the future.

About compensation:

I currently don't have a budget for upfront salaries. However, I want my collaborator to receive a fair share of the game's revenue starting from the first commercial earnings, without having to wait indefinitely for the project to become profitable.

I'm willing to make this official through a written agreement covering revenue sharing, payment terms, responsibilities, and ownership of contributed work.

The exact percentage would be discussed together and agreed upon before beginning serious development.

Of course, commercial success isn't guaranteed, and I want to be completely transparent about that.

I'm actively developing the game myself, and I'm looking for someone who genuinely believes in the project and wants to help shape its future.

I can share gameplay footage, screenshots, and a private playable prototype.

If you're interested, feel free to send me a DM. I'd love to talk!

You're free to use any tools you prefer, including AI tools, Blender, and other software. I don't mind how the work is created, as long as the final result is high-quality, works properly in Unity, and can legally be used in a commercial game.

Hey everyone!

I'm a solo indie game developer currently working on a physics-based fighting simulator in Unity.

I've already built a playable prototype, and I'm looking for people who would like to test it, share feedback, or potentially join me in developing it further.

What I've already implemented:

  • Physics-based punches with location-specific hit detection
  • Dynamic bruises, swelling, and facial cuts
  • Blood droplets that interact with characters and the environment
  • Ragdoll physics and knockdowns
  • Different punches and body reactions
  • Basic performance optimization

The project is still in development, but the core systems are already playable.

I'm looking for two types of people:

Playtesters: People interested in trying the game and giving honest feedback about its physics, gameplay, performance, and overall experience.

Potential teammates: If you have experience with Unity, C#, 3D modeling, animation, game design, or game development in general, I'd be happy to talk about working together.

I'm currently developing the project alone, but I believe collaborating with another developer or building a small team could help us create something much bigger.

A note about funding:

This is currently a self-funded indie project with no budget for salaries.

I'm not looking for people to work for free while I take all the benefits. I'm looking for collaborators who genuinely like the idea and would be interested in building something together.

Any potential revenue sharing, responsibilities, project ownership, and rights to contributed work would be discussed transparently and agreed upon in writing before development begins.

There is no guaranteed income at this stage, and nobody would be expected to commit to full-time work.

My goal is to develop the project into a commercial game and potentially approach publishers for funding.

If you're interested in testing the game or discussing a possible collaboration, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message.

I can share gameplay footage and arrange private playtesting sessions.

Content warning: The game contains graphic blood, injuries, and violence.

Thanks for reading!
