Hi! I'm a solo developer from Germany. My deckbuilder CHROMEDRIFT is moving from a public alpha to a closed beta, and I'm looking for testers who will actually play it.
What it is
A roguelike deckbuilder in the vein of Slay the Spire. You climb a vertical megacity through three acts to reach ARGUS, the AI that runs it. A run takes about 1.5 to 3 hours.
- Flesh and Net: every enemy has a body and a firewall. Guns and fists hit the Flesh, hacks hit the Net. Break the firewall and the enemy skips its next move and takes 50 % more damage.
- Body versus machine: every implant costs Humanity. Your Humanity decides which lines on your cards work, and the story and endings notice what you became.
- Nothing hidden: enemies show their next move, and the game shows what a card will do before you play it.
What is new in the beta
- A new look: almost every picture redrawn in a cold, 90s anime film style (film grain, hard shadows, inked lines), with animated scenes.
- A second runner: Ryu, the Blade. He has 80 HP, 75 cards of his own, a core that pays him for running hot, and his own story and endings.
- The game teaches itself: your first run brings in the rules one fight at a time, and your runner explains each new idea in one short line.
- More to do: five alarm levels after your first win, a daily run, controller and Steam Deck support.
What I'm asking
- Play at least one full run, ideally more than one.
- Tell me honestly what worked and what didn't. A short questionnaire comes with the build.
- Windows 10/11 (64-bit), or a Steam Deck. English or German.
