This definitely feels more like a proof of concept than a finished game, but there’s some good work here, especially if this was primarily an opportunity to learn Godot 3D and Blender.
The movement was smooth and responsive, and I liked the terrain, colors, and overall look of the environment. I also thought the little phone beeps blending into the background music were a nice touch.
The biggest issue for me was that I never really found a payoff to the signal mechanic. I walked around, raised the phone, and found areas with stronger/weaker readings, but even when I seemed to have a full signal I couldn’t tell that anything happened.
Once I realized there wasn’t much beyond searching for reception, my interest dropped pretty quickly.
I think there’s actually a fun little idea here if finding signal eventually creates more decisions or consequences. Different signal sources, places you have to reach, something responding to you, navigation challenges, etc.
As a first 3D/Blender experiment though, there are definitely some nice pieces here. The world and movement in particular feel like a solid foundation to keep building from.
