Loved the use of repetition to get you lulled into a false sense of security. As I would start going on auto pilot something would happen to make me snap back to reality. A little long, but kinda nice in a jam full of shorter stuff. Didn't get to finish the whole thing cause I wanna get to every game but I will absolutely be coming back to finish this!

great atmosphere & mood! terminal voice was perfect. I was super invested, although it maybe lasted a little long. the tension build-up was great but the end just sort of "ended"

I actually liked the repetition. It reinforced the themes. Audio was great and adaptive it seemed. I was going to wait for emergency help but i got tired of waiting :)

Developer

glad you enjoyed it, user :) I expected the wait at the end would be very difficult for most after the speed of the routine, but would be fun to play with the end sequence some more and make it more interactive vs just having to sit and do nothing

Definitely some great moodiness and concept, but I think it lost some tension by virtue of running fairly long and the repetition with unskippable VO. I enjoyed discovering that the commands only cared if they contained the word "log" or "dome" and not if there was any other text, so I started entering those commands in silly ways every time. Come to think of it, maybe that's why it felt less tense... Also, there's no max character length, and if you go long enough the characters break out of the terminal screen!

Developer

terminal overload >.< glad you found some ways we could improve on the commands and text input, that wasn't even something I considered to test

Really cool rating. Lots to like and genuinely sent shivers up my spine. I want more though more action, more scares, more than the atmospheric creepiness and shadows. A date counter would be nice or something I almost quit two days before the end...

Developer(+1)

Glad you enjoyed it, user :) Stephen King said horror is "the monster under your bed" but never actually seeing the monster, so that shiver was exactly what we were going for! Definitely would love to build more scares in

Interesting narrative elements, and you do a lot to show vs tell in the environment. I was curious if the status reports at the end of each day were going to be used in some way, and I'd be interested to know how you might expand on the mechanics/story at some point!

Developer

That really was the original goal, to use information that the user input and call it back later to scare them even more, it just started to get complicated a little beyond my skill level within the deadline :)

I really enjoyed playing through this! The environment was sparse and calmly spook, which felt perfect for a narrative heavy beginning like you have here. The use of the default text to speech voices were a clever choice! I think it may have been a bit better to use as a flavor moment (like some visual novels do to emphasize a moment rather than everyone line). The only request I would have is like someone else said, the ability to speed up the text!

Developer

I was happy to find the default tts voices that fit the theme, and yeah being able to fast forward would have made things snappier. I like the idea of just bringing in the voice at certain moments for more emphasis and could be scary too

This was awesome! I love sit and stay horror games and this really got under my skin. Love how you play with the repetition in the routine and letting the player get spooked by small differences. Great work

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it, user... :) that was exactly what I was going for, with more time would have loved to have some better/spookier scares

Wish you could speed through the text quicker given the amount of repetition, but this was a really interesting take on cosmic horror!! Was on the edge of my seat for a bit of it, really cool concept! Though it was a bit long for my taste, but maybe I'm not a visual novel type of guy

Developer

You're right, being able to skip text would have been a good idea. I wasn't sure how to balance the overall length with the repetition of the routine, and get enough scares in, but it was fun to try new things

super cool, there is a lot of X Factor here, I love how dark and lonely everything feels and I love the computer voices, adds to the coldness

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it :) I was happy to find the standard microsoft tts voices that suited my purposes

Pretty fun game for the quick turnaround. I really enjoyed the atmospheric music and the terminal's dialogue really pulled me in. I was never sure who was actually talking to me, the computer, myself, or something else. Great job!

Glad you enjoyed it, user...it was a lot of fun to make!
Given more time would have loved to implement some bigger scares and different play paths/outcomes.
Inspiration for another day.
