Cool idea! I liked having the freedom to make soups how I wanted, using the flavor descriptions and ingredients as clues to figure out what worked. The score was nice too, helped me see how I was doing lol. Loved the page-turning animation, and the ingredient art looked great, even after cutting them up! The knife animation was a nice touch too. Had fun messing around with the different combinations!

Hi there!

This was a nice cozy game, and I spent way too long trying to perfect the first recipe. I like the bit where the steps are initially an unknown and you have to explore (or get grandma to help you) in order to unlock them.

I also really like the knife motion and the page flip, good wwoork!

For improvements, I would do the following:

  1. Reduce the clicks between summoning ingredients, I feel that the extra motion of opening the book, then dragging the cursor to the ingredient becomes a chore if you are trying to experiment with a lot of ingredients.
  2. Personally i find the text is a hard to read, so either increasing the font size, or choosing a more legible pixel font

Minor suggestions

  1. Would be cool for the item on the board to remain where it was placed instead of snapping
  2. I would have a single pane instead of 2, the chopping board on the left and cookstove on the right. Then like the ingredient names/icons at the edges of the screen where I could just drag and drop them on the counter (yes, this is not an easy feature but would be really cool to have)

Overall I can see the effort that's gone into this game, so kudos to you!

This is a nice game!

I liked adding the ingredients, and switching between the two screens worked well. It was a bit confusing when I was trying to figure out what to do and the granny would add things for me. I also thought there could be more audio, like sound effects for chopping, if the pot is boiling, picking up and putting things down, stuff like that. Overall very comfy, and now I want some soup

What a cool concept, the whole experimenting and trying out different combinations to find out exactly what you need is pretty cool!!! Trying to figure out a recipe with context clues of flavors is honestly really creative!! The audio felt a bit buggy, I had to mute while playing but nonetheless, pretty nice
