NeonStrip – 3D Adult Dating Sim (In Development)

Hi everyone 👋

I’m currently developing NeonStrip, a 3D adult dating/life-sim set in a neon-soaked coastal city, inspired by nightlife culture, freedom, and consequences.

This devlog will be used to share teasers, small updates, experiments, and progress as the game evolves. The goal here isn’t to advertise a finished product, but to show how NeonStrip is being built over time — systems, visuals, ideas, and sometimes things that break along the way.

🌆 What is NeonStrip?

NeonStrip is a sandbox-style adult dating sim where you explore an open city, meet NPCs with distinct personalities, and build (or ruin) relationships through dialogue, choices, and actions.

Key pillars of the game:

  • Open-world exploration (day & night cycle)

  • Relationship-driven gameplay

  • NPC attraction, mood, and memory systems

  • Dialogue that reacts to how you play, not just what you click

  • A strong neon / nightlife aesthetic

The focus is on player agency — how you approach characters, how consistently you treat them, and how your behavior shapes future interactions.

🛠 Current Development Focus

Right now, development is centered around:

  • Improving NPC interaction flow

  • Polishing dialogue, pacing, and reactions

  • Performance and stability improvements

  • Expanding relationship mechanics and NPC behavior

This is an ongoing project, and many systems are being refined iteratively.

📸 What to Expect in This Devlog

I’ll be posting:

  • Visual teasers and screenshots

  • Short clips and previews

  • Small gameplay updates

  • System breakdowns (when interesting)

  • Occasional questions or polls for feedback

Updates here will be bite-sized and visual-first, with bigger release details handled elsewhere.

💬 Feedback Welcome

If something catches your eye, feels confusing, or sparks a question — feel free to comment. Thoughtful feedback is always appreciated and often influences what I work on next.

Thanks for checking out NeonStrip, and welcome to the devlog.

NeonStrip – Dev Update (0.30.0a Progress)

This month has been focused on expanding core systems and laying foundations for larger gameplay loops coming soon.

Version 0.30.0a introduces several major structural additions — some of which are partially implemented and still evolving.

🏬 Shop System (Foundation Phase)

Shops have been added across the world.

They are currently partially implemented and not fully usable yet.
This update lays the groundwork for:

  • Item purchasing

  • In-world shop interactions

  • Future economy expansion

  • Integration with romance & gift systems

Expect continued improvements in upcoming builds.

👗 Wardrobe System (In-Game Customization)

You can now customize clothing while in-game.

This system will expand with:

  • More outfit slots

  • Additional clothing types

  • Better UI flow

  • Integration with shop purchases

⚧ New Trans-Female Option (Character Creator)

A new gender option has been added to the Character Creator.

⚠️ Important: This feature is not fully complete yet and may not function as expected in all systems.

Further refinement and animation support will continue in the next builds.

🎥 Romance System Improvements

  • Added FPS Cinemachine camera for intercourse scenes

  • Expanded scene flow logic

  • Continued development of new positions and interactions

More content for the adult romance system is currently in development.

🌆 Performance & World Improvements

  • Implemented subscenes for better performance and streaming

  • Replaced volumetric clouds with layered clouds (performance boost)

  • Tweaked ambient occlusion

  • Improved camera focus targets in Character Creator

  • Post-processing refinements

The world should feel smoother overall, especially in larger areas.

What’s Next?

The next updates will focus on:

  • Completing the shop system

  • Expanding romance content & positions

  • Refining the trans-female implementation

  • Expanding character customization

  • Deepening world interactivity

This build represents structural progress — the systems are being assembled for something bigger.

Thank you to everyone testing and supporting development. More updates coming soon.

NeonStrip – Dev Update (0.33.0a Progress)

Development on Version 0.33.0a has been focused heavily on expanding world interaction, improving NPC systems, and continuing the long-term foundation work for Moon City.

A large part of this update is centered around making the game world feel more dynamic and immersive instead of static.

🌴 Map Expansion & Exploration

Work continues on extending the island map to improve exploration and driving freedom.

New roads, environmental areas, and coastal routes are being added to make the world feel larger and more connected. The goal is to make driving around Moon City feel more open and immersive.

🧠 NPC Social Systems

One of the biggest foundations currently being developed is the new Social Group System.

NPCs are beginning to: • Socialize together • Chat with each other dynamically • React in groups • Create more believable ambient world behavior

This system is still evolving, but it is a major step toward making the city feel alive.

👥 NPC Follow Mechanic

The NPC Follow System is now fully functional.

Players can now: • Ask NPCs to follow them • Stop followers through dialogue/actions • Use interaction-based commands with NPCs

This lays the groundwork for deeper companion and relationship mechanics in future updates.

🎮 Interaction Improvements

A new scrollable interaction action menu has been added.

Instead of simply displaying “Interact,” the UI now shows direct actions and interaction options more cleanly and responsively.

Additional interaction and dialogue improvements are also being worked on.

✨ Character Creator Improvements

The Character Creator continues to receive updates and refinements.

Current work includes: • Facial morph customization • UI improvements • Expanded customization options • Ongoing wardrobe support improvements

The goal is to continue pushing player customization much further.

🧠 AI Dialogue Improvements

A new smaller and smarter AI dialogue model has been integrated.

This new model aims to: • Improve NPC response quality • Improve consistency in conversations • Reduce performance overhead • Create more natural interactions

🚧 Overall Development Focus

Current development priorities include: • NPC immersion systems • Social AI behavior • Exploration & map expansion • Character customization • Interaction systems • Performance & stability improvements

Moon City continues to evolve with every update.

More development updates soon. 💜

NeonStrip Weekly Development Update 9.18.2026 — Police Station, Vehicles & World Improvement

Hey everyone!

Another week of NeonStrip development is complete. This week I've been working on several areas of the game, including the Police Station, Volt-X Gas Station, vehicle cameras, Third-Person Controller, and various smaller improvements.

Police Station

Development on the Police Station interior has officially started!

Players can now walk directly in and out of the Police Station from the game world. The interior is currently in the early greybox stage, so I'm focusing on establishing the layout and gameplay spaces before moving on to textures, furniture, props, lighting, and other details.

I've also made several additions to the exterior, with more improvements planned.

Volt-X Gas Station

I've finished updating the interior and exterior textures of the Volt-X Gas Station.

This is part of my ongoing effort to revisit existing locations and improve their overall detail and visual consistency instead of only focusing on expanding the size of the world.

Vehicle Improvements

Driving received several improvements this week as well.

• Fixed camera transition issues when exiting vehicles.
• Improved vehicle camera positioning and transitions.
• Made additional changes to the vehicle camera system.
• You can now look around while sitting in the driver's seat.

Third-Person Controller & Other Improvements

I've also continued refining character movement and camera behavior, including smoother movement and fixes for problematic camera angles.

Several underlying systems have received compatibility updates as I continue moving the project forward with a newer Editor version.

There have also been various UI fixes, gameplay adjustments, compatibility improvements, and general bug fixes throughout the week.

More to Come

The Police Station is still very early in development, so there is plenty more work ahead for both the interior and exterior.

I'll continue improving existing locations alongside the gameplay systems that make the world more interactive and functional.

Thanks to everyone following NeonStrip's development. More progress coming soon!  Check out NeonStrip Game Page for more information.

Weekly Development Update 9.25.2026

Another productive week for NeonStrip, with development covering the world, AI dialogue, NPC behavior, gameplay systems, combat, and UI.

World Development

Work continued on several areas of the island, including the buildings housing Veloura and Obsidian, the women's and men's clothing stores.

The Player's Starting House also received more attention, including continued development of the jacuzzi and surrounding backyard area.

New Waypoint Indicator System

Following player feedback about difficulty finding package drop-off locations during Random Encounters, a new Waypoint Indicator System has been added.

The indicator shows the direction and distance of the destination, even when it's outside the player's current view.

While initially created for package deliveries, this system will eventually be expanded to help locate mission objectives, vehicles, followers, destinations, and other important locations.

Save/Load & Wardrobe Improvements

The new Save/Load Slot Window is now fully implemented, supporting multiple saves with screenshots and save information, along with the ability to delete individual slots.

Several Wardrobe and Dressing Room issues were also addressed, including player positioning and the body-part camera controls used when viewing clothing.

AI Dialogue Improvements

Two important additions were made to NeonStrip's AI dialogue system.

A new Interrupt button allows players to cancel an NPC response that's taking too long to generate and immediately return to player dialogue.

Players can also now add and select their own compatible LLM models for NeonStrip's local AI dialogue system.

NPC & Character Improvements

A new character, Nia Carter, has been added to NeonStrip, with more development planned for her character and role.

NPC-to-NPC socializing was also improved. Conversations now occur less frequently, use better cooldowns, and will no longer start during inappropriate situations such as combat or death.

The interaction highlight previously displayed around NPCs has also been removed for a cleaner presentation.

Gameplay & Combat

Several additional improvements were made this week:

  • Reduced stamina costs for running, jumping, and dodging.
  • Added new collectible item and weapon icons.
  • Improved the consistency of blood effects from weapon hits.
  • Continued improving cinematic character interactions and transitions.

A lot of different systems received attention this week, but custom LLM support is one of the additions I'm particularly happy to have working. Giving players the ability to choose their own compatible local AI model opens up considerably more flexibility for NeonStrip's dialogue system going forward.

More development continues next week.  For the full development log, visit our Patreon page.

Weekly Development Update 10.23.2026

Development continues on NeonStrip! This week, I've been working on several major systems and continuing to expand Moon City.

What's New in Development?

Intercourse System Improvements
Work continues on the Intercourse Animation Graph Editor, which will help support different intercourse modes and more flexible animation transitions. I've also been improving the mini menu used during intercourse.

Living Island System
Development continues on the Living Island System, with a focus on making NPCs more dynamic by allowing them to remember events and eventually react to their experiences with the player and the world. This is a large undertaking and will not be fully ready for the next monthly build, but supporters can expect an early look at what some of these new features can do.

Environment Expansion
I've continued developing the city map, focusing primarily on streets and surrounding areas to expand and improve the world.

New Drivable Vehicle — Work in Progress
I've also started working on another drivable vehicle. The vehicle shown in the development screenshots is currently a test vehicle, so its inclusion in the next update is not guaranteed.

Looking Ahead

Several of these systems are substantial projects that will take time to develop and test. The goal is to introduce improvements in stages, giving players a preview of what's possible while the larger systems continue to evolve.
