What did you revive? What was your inspiration?
We revived Princess Morbucks from The Powerpuff Girls. She’s the richest, most spoiled kid in town, and we always thought she deserved to be the main character for once. Her whole personality is having way too much money and stuff, so we built a game around throwing her luxury items into a vortex and turning them into cash, with the paparazzi chasing her the whole time. The hole mechanic and the roguelike shop and contracts came from our love of arcade games and roguelikes.

How do you play your game? Is controller required?
No controller needed, it’s keyboard only. Move with WASD or the arrow keys, and press E or Space to pick up an item and drop it inside the vortex. Q, Shift and F trigger abilities you unlock along the way. Grab items, toss them into the vortex before the 30-second timer runs out, and hit the quota while dodging the paparazzi. It plays best in fullscreen.

What asset packs did you use? What, if any, content is AI generated?
None of the content is AI generated. All the art, code and design were made by us, which is also why a few things are still unfinished. The only outside assets are the music tracks, which we downloaded from Pixabay.

Fun entry! The game loop works well and the main mechanic is interesting enough to keep you playing. My biggest issue was the UI, since it covers a lot of the map and that felt a bit odd while playing. A cleaner HUD and a gentler intro to the mechanics would make it even better. Nice work!

I had lots of fun! It took me a while to understand that the Quota referred to points, not money, but other than that everything felt pretty intuitive to me. I also made maybe a half-dozen runs, so I'd say the game has good replayability.

The one improvement I'd suggest would be changing the keybinds or allowing the player to do so. With the current layout, I was essentially playing with only one hand, which got a bit tiring as the levels got harder. It would be nice to be able to move with WASD and do other actions/use skills with the right hand.

Great job!

The overall experience is challenging and fun and you build up a full game experience. I like the simple idea, and it is hard to get to the later levels.

At first, it was kind of overwhelming for me, but the core loop works. After I figured everything out, it was a good experience.

Every indicator is there and the UI is doing its job, but I think the game could guide me a little more through the mechanics. The UI looks good and shows everthing but it could be a little less overwhelming and show the important information more clearly. Alternatively, it could build up over the levels to give a smoother introduction. Maybe the first levels could work more like a tutorial that introduces the mechanics.

I like the soundtrack! It sets a good mood for the game. But the game over music shocked me every time. It was a little loud ;D

Thanks for the entry!

Thanks for playing. You’re right: we’ll try to improve the player presentation interface, as it’s a bit overwhelming. Thanks! :)
