I'm in hard mode right now. What are the glowing yellow things? I've never seen them until now. When I mine them, I just get quartz. Also it seems Grandpa's power changed???

Yes, Grampshell has been reworked in the latest Serenitrove update. Instead of increasing resource spawns directly, he now spawns shiny cells that contain a random resource from the surrounding area. You can check out the latest patch notes to learn more about his new abilities :)
