How does your game use the theme?
It uses the theme "trick", because surviving in the game depends on player's trick to play, they can peacefully earn and live, or cause chaos and take risk

The game contains an impressive amount of content for a jam project. The controls seem more suited to mobile devices than PC, and some of the keyboard shortcuts are not very intuitive. Initially, I thought discovering the controls might be part of the "TRICK" theme until I found that Spacebar was NOT used for jumping. Once I learned the controls, the experience improved considerably.

I also felt dropped into the world without any context. A short cutscene, mission briefing, or even a phone call at the beginning would help establish what's happening and give players a reason to care about their actions.

Despite these issues, the project shows a lot of promise. There's a solid foundation, plenty of features already implemented, and I can definitely see the game's future potential.

Hey! Thanks for your detailed feedback. The game was originally made for mobile devices, so controls may feel awkward. But I have added a NEW controls panel which you can access from minimap's settings icon, you can choose the control type recommended for desktop which may help. The space bar is really not for jumping 😅, it just shows you keyboard shortcuts. And Can you please specify how keyboard shortcuts are not helpful? So I can actually go fix it :). I know why it may feel dropped without context initially, but players are expected to explore themselves instead of a tutorial or a cutscene. Glad you liked the game

sort of a gta 1? I bet if you play with visuals and controls you'll get x100 boost. ask a claude about this 😂

Really cool execution on Streetbound! Trying to play it safe vs going full chaos makes for a dynamic game loop. Solid entry for the jam!

Hi! Could you give one specific example of a trick the player can use in StreetBound, and add it to your theme answer? The choice between earning money and causing chaos is clear, but I’d like to understand how TRICK works in play.

One example of a trick in StreetBound is using the police's own pursuit against them. During a chase, the player can maneuver strategically to make pursuing police cars collide with each other, potentially causing them to explode. Instead of simply outrunning the police, the player can trick them into turning their pursuit into their own downfall.
