I checked the English novice tutorial in the GitHub build (v0.7.3) using Codex browser controls, through placing Spearmen and playing the first decree. The highlighted slot and the tap-card-then-tap-slot alternative made that first placement clear.
One concrete naming mismatch: step 9/31 says “Select Tax Collection,” but the highlighted card is named “LEVY.” Playing Levy did give the expected +2 gold and advance to step 10, so the action works; using the same name in the instruction would remove the guess.
I stopped there, so this is an opening-instructions check, not a balance, sound or full-match review. I’m building the conversational strategy prototype Kingdoms and would be happy to exchange a similarly small first-decision check if useful.
