i liked this game soo much

there was soo much excitement that pushed me to advance in this game and see the ending
also fishing was the most funny part of this game
you should improve it and like add more fishes and different difficulty depending on the fish

thank you soo much for this great game <3

For me, one of the best and most polished submissions!
The use of pixel art for the player hands and stuff is really cool, reminded me of Blood. The music's interesting, not exactly dark, but contemplative and even hopeful. I would remove it and add ambiences to make it more tense: animals in the distance, strange howls, branches breaking, wind. The UI is cool and works really well. Some problems reading the text though.
Lastly, the jump scares feel awkward. I wouldn't use it here, as it actually works against the narrative  you propose: a more intricate and subtle story. A quick and random aparition of a blood stained kid standing somewhere then running into the dark would have freaked me out!
Great work!

The game has a really good aesthetic! Took me back to old school horror games. The fishing/cooking mechanic would be really cool in a pseudo survival situation in some spooky woods. Could've done without the part with the kid.

The jump scares felt tacked on and were objectively the weakest part of the game. I would've also really liked if I could pick up the items whenever I came across them and let me figure out what to do with them like a puzzle game would do. There were a lot of weird text bugs where it was very difficult to read and it did not want to stay within the text boxes.

Really great artstyle and music, though. The atmosphere was immaculate and very moody!

also thank you for your feedback ill make sure to fix those text bugs and make the jumpscares a little more exciting

had to wonder around a bit, and fell off the edge a couple times. But lovely atmosphere, and the most polished game i've seen. Very well done.

I did like a lot of the game's atmosphere, the cozy fishing in the dark was almost soothing!

That said I did think the jump scares were the weakest part since they came out of nowhere and did nothing? I feel like doubling down on the atmosphere and maybe leaving more creepy things around would up the tension far more than the jump scares IMO. The font + iconography could benefit from a second pass as it was hard to make out what some of the text or items where (I did not realize top right icons were food and hand for example).

I did have to restart the game twice from jumping into the fishing pond accidentally and not being able to exit it so might be a good idea to block those collisions off.

Really like the art style here, feels unique and lots of great sfx that helps amplify the scariness of the game. And who doesn't love a cozy fishing game before getting jumped scared into oblivion?? Decent story but feel like it could use a bit more explanation of the monster and why its after you/ how to avoid if that's possible. It also took a while to figure out I had to feed the kid 3 meals before I could get them to follow me to the boat (Realized theres an icon after but maybe a bit more clarity there?) . Definitely spooky. Great job!
