I suck at platforming but I liked the aesthetic!
Being the ultimate candy collecting otter is such a charming, silly hook for a jam game. Players are praising the CRT visual effects and the tight controls, and the in-game volume setting is a thoughtful touch. Building it in Godot and shipping it for the jam is great work, so congratulations! If you have a spare few minutes, I would love for you to try my entry, Last Sweep.
very nice game ! could just be me but i felt the gravity was a little strong. the timer and the music distorting was very stressful,,, good job !!!
there is a volume control in settings if it’s too loud
oh no sorry i meant like in a good way! the music distorting was kinda like an "oh no" moment bc i felt like something bad was gonna happen when the timer ran out 😭
Oh gotcha, Mb. That’s great, Im glad it gave you that vibe, I originally was gonna have more but I cut it out.
Love the quick game. Smooth controls and great sfx. Great work!
spent most my time working on effects, thanks for noticing
Nice and quick game. Enough said.
Here's my playthrough of it. It's at the beginning of this video.
thanks for playing it!
Good art, nice aesthetics.
Somewhat unchallenging, but I had fun.
I enjoyed the use of the classical music.
Although I think I found a bug where two songs were playing at once?
And one other thing I didn't quite understand was why you spawned back at the very beginning of the level when falling a pit. it's good that there's pushback, it seems like after a center point you'd just be far enough away from where you were, you wouldn't be able to get back even if you tried. Something like this happened in my first run so it stuck out at me.
But still, nice game over all, good work.
yeah, I have been noticing that bug too, I think it’s the settings menu player. It has a thing so it just pauses the audio, I think it’s not pausing it after. The spawning back is because that’s what happens when the death function is called. If I release another version, I’ll fix all of that.
Those candy sounds itch some long lost nerve of mine. who made that sound holy moly. got to 950! very fun ps. music is kinda loud
the sound is actually a leaf crunch that I edited to hell, the music has a volume control in settings
Really cute! Bit of a fun challenge to figure out which holes you can just run over! The CRT effect was a really nice touch!
thanks, I spent a while working on the effects
Tight controls, I'm surprised I didn't fall off! Crunchy candy ahoy!
thanks for playing it! Leaves are amazing.
Cool runner game, though it could have been a bit more challenging.
thanks, I had more parts to it to make it more difficult, I decided to not include them because they were buggy
I wonder if there's more to it than a simple platformer, not sure...
It had a lot more content that I was going to include, but I started late and the content had too many bugs.
I also am on a trip so I had to submit early
I ain't gonna lie, this is a real cutiee game. That plus the timer fitting w the music progression is really nice.
But that being said, it DID feel more like an unintuitive "Hold a button and jump occasionally" than anything much of substance. But then again, it's a cute little game for one of your first few jams, haha.
it’s is pretty simple I had way more content i was going to include it just had too many bugs
the music is so loud!!! but great visuals with the crt filter
there’s a volume setting in the settings menu
This was so fun!! I had a smile on my face the whole time, it was just so silly but also intense! The music does get VERY loud at the end, maybe a tad too loud, but other than that fantastic job. It activates the little speedrun gremlin in my brain.
Also, I played the Linux version, but it said it could not connect to the leaderboards.
there’s a volume setting in the settings menu and for Linux, I tested with wsl so I thought that was an environment firewall, thanks for letting me know
I love being a fox; the musical selection was also quite good.
Thanks!
It’s an otter btw
