Here's a screenshot I took and edited from the pins menu (I keep seeing people saying there's only 9 or 10 but my friend and I played yesterday and got 12!)

i think it's a replacement, i was similarly confused when i saw others' had flowers on but when i checked the pins list, mine had been changed over as well.

Puppy pin is in the same place where you make a friend with the entity at the cinema, but you have to go into Options -> Accessibility and change Enable Monsters into Replace With Dogs, then the entity gets replaced with a dog and the pins box now has dog pins
