heya, first of this is a game which I found very interestin, the monsters were very fitting to the whole spore funghi setting. I liked the small puzzle/find/hide approach.
Soundwise I also did every sound by hand / played it myself. So I know how hard it is to do foley right and how to make it sound good in the mix overall.
Knowing you did all by yourself is a plus for me, most of the games I've played use "sound banks" like pixabay. So that's a big plus.
First of all the music was fitting (plus extra menu music!), albeit a bit too much in the background (glad you have built in a slider for it, which our game doesn't have unfortunately.) The spore sounds and the escape music helped the game fundamentally in that regard to make the feel of escape even stronger and to evade the spore monsters. Of course it could be improved, a bit more thumpy sound to really hit you when a monster charges you. By the way the monster growl is really nice.
Small nitpicks I noticed:
- footsteps: very hard to do, when focusing the sound it sounds like one feet is limping or they sound too different from each other. Maybe it's because the same sound is not altered/pitched slightly so it sounds too repetetive. Also, but this is because of the level design, hard to know what underground you are walking on.
- voiceover: I think a more stereotypical scientist voice would've been more fitting, for me personally this would make the biggest improvement in world building as well.
