Historical Accuracy
our game follows Laika, one of the first creatures sent into space during the space race as a test, the game follows three snapshots from the time one of the scientists brought Laika home before the launch, to the launch itself and finally Laika's view from the rocket itself.
Thematic Relevance
we used multiple references, mostly of objects and visuals from that time period, getting objects and spaces to look how they did during the soviet unions heyday, we also brought in actual media recorded from that time.
Disclaimers
no AI was used, but video media and audio was brought in and used verbatim, for example the tv, and the ending video.

The atmosphere in these levels was really amazing! It gave everything the feeling of melancholy appropriate to Laika. I really enjoyed the dithering shadows and the diorama-like buildings out the window.
Very sweet game. Made me feel very sad for Laika, she just wanted to be helpful like any other dog. Loved the visual style, great short little experience. Thank you for this!
Wow, this is a very immersive Laika related game! Thank you.
I appreciate that you put the effort to include dog vision (gray scale). That you included a model of the R7 rocket. And that you included the real video of Laika at the end.
One minor issue - in order to get into the capsule I had to jump and click LMB in the air. Otherwise the interaction is not available. This may be game breaking for some players.
It was nice that there was a section at the end when she is in outer space. Maybe it would be even more interesting/evocative if the view went to 3rd person and focused on the dog's face. But that would require some animation which was probably too much for the jam period.
Good luck!
Very spooky-coded and visually stimulating.
Eerie to be fetching right around the rocket at night, and the end game ‘test’ was heartbreaking in all the right ways.
I loved the green colour palette of a dog’s perspective: very intelligent and thoughtful. What you lose in accuracy of her tests, I think this game largely finds in the setting design and sense of immediacy.
THAT WAS SO GOOD, I knew it would be worth it for being a downloadable games. Some games are so much better outside of browser. THANK YOU SO MUCh, and so impressive how much you were able to do in the span of a week
I left this until last at it's the only entry that needs to be downloaded.
I really like the idea of playing as Laika and the first person 3D is very well executed.
The TV in the corner was a brilliant touch.
No support for the arrow keys though which can be a big problem for left-hander like me, especially when the jump key is space - my thumb is on the wrong side to press space when using WASD (left hand is using the mouse).
Would love to see a longer version of this maybe with more training for Laika and a longer period in the space ship, although we all know where that ends.
I noticed today that there is a key mapping option in the settings.
