Description
I was inspired by the soundtrack of the game Overcooked, as I like the acoustic nature of that soundtrack. I also thought that it would be interesting to have music that is not as chaotic as what the players would be doing in 'World of Cakes'. This particular piece would play during a cooking challenge, perhaps a co-op mission.

The music has a forward momentum and some harmonic tension but maintains a cool, collected exterior - as if to say that the players are the ones getting stressed out, 'you need to get better at managing your kitchen tasks!'. I used pots and pans, a wooden spoon and a salt shaker as the main percussion, on top of a simple drum machine groove to create the effect of being in a 'kitchen'/ crafty environment. The key of the piece is roughly Gb Major and then modulates to Eb Major for the B section. The main melody alternates between a baritone ukulele and some cutesy synthesiser leads. I really enjoyed working on this and seeing what other people have come up with!

Great use of metric modulation to really emphasis the harmonic modulation! The instrumentation reminds me of underwater segments, with steel pans and marimba etc.

Bass line construction and harmonic progression were excellent, in a way they kind of outshone the Ukulele, which I assume is the melody. If you plan on working on this after the track, give the Uke more love!!

Sounds great! I love chords like the subdominant minor! I also like how effectively you incorporate 7/4 time.
