The camera is recording. The tunnels are waiting. And something is lurking in the darkness.

After months of development, I'm excited to announce that the demo of recovery_sewers.vid is officially available!

This is a project I've been working on as an indie developer, inspired by found-footage horror movies, unsettling underground environments, and the fear of being completely alone somewhere you shouldn't be.

And now, it's time for you to enter the sewers.

🎃 A Halloween Game Gone Wrong

Halloween night, October 31st, 2000.

Four friends — David, Sofía, Sebastian, and Gabriel — decide to explore their town's abandoned sewer system as part of a school challenge.

The rules are simple: play hide-and-seek inside the tunnels.

David closes his eyes and begins counting to one hundred while his friends disappear into the darkness.

But when he opens his eyes, something feels wrong.

Nobody answers.

The laughter has stopped.

And somewhere deep inside the tunnels, something has awakened.

They thought they were playing hide-and-seek. They didn't realize something else was playing too.

📹 What Can You Expect From the Demo?

recovery_sewers.vid is a first-person psychological horror experience presented through the lens of a handheld camera.

The demo introduces you to the game's atmosphere, story, and terrifying underground world.

Features include:

  • Found-footage aesthetics: Experience the nightmare through a camera-inspired visual style.
  • Atmospheric horror: Explore abandoned tunnels filled with darkness, disturbing sounds, and unsettling discoveries.
  • Exploration and suspense: Search for your missing friends while uncovering the secrets hidden beneath the town.
  • An oppressive environment: Every distant noise, shadow, and unexplored corridor could mean danger.
  • A dark mystery: Discover why these tunnels were abandoned and what might still inhabit them.

There are no heroic soldiers here. No powerful weapons.

Just a child, a camera, and something that should never have been disturbed.

🩸 A Personal Indie Horror Project

As a solo indie developer, creating recovery_sewers.vid has been a challenging and rewarding experience.

My goal was to capture the feeling of watching a mysterious videotape recovered after a terrible incident.

I wanted the environment itself to become part of the horror — the claustrophobic corridors, the distant echoes, the uncertainty of what might be waiting around the next corner.

This demo represents an important milestone in that journey, but it's only the beginning.

❤️ Your Feedback Matters!

If you decide to venture into the tunnels, I'd love to hear about your experience!

Did the atmosphere make you uncomfortable? Did something scare you? Did you encounter any bugs or performance issues?

Every comment, suggestion, and piece of feedback helps me improve the game.

If you enjoy the demo, consider sharing it with your friends, leaving a comment, or recording your playthrough. Watching other people experience the horror is one of the most exciting parts of being an indie horror developer.

🔴 REC ● 31.10.2000

The footage has been recovered.

The investigation remains open.

Now it's your turn to discover what happened down there.

Thank you for supporting my work, and I hope you enjoy the demo!

See you in the darkness.

Found footage in the sewers is a creepy setting for Halloween. Demos can quietly miss the players hunting for spooky games this week, and every player who never finds it won't be there for the full game.

So what should I do?

Great question! That's exactly what Launch Tavern does for devs, start to finish, with nothing for you to do. Details are on the Launch Tavern profile if you'd like a hand.
