The Biggest Challenge
The biggest challenge was making a deterministic territory opponent and three gardens that remain playable. Independent Codex review found an unreachable crystal bloom in the third layout; the barriers were revised, ten engine tests and 360 seeded legal rollouts passed, and all three gardens were completed through the real browser interface. The breakthrough was treating AI output as a prototype to test and correct, rather than assuming it was balanced.

AI Tools Used
OpenAI Codex for concept, rules, code, interface writing, testing, debugging, and independent review; OpenAI built-in image generation for the original concept, botanical tile atlas, and background.

Areas Where AI Was Used
AI was used for game design and rules, HTML/CSS/JavaScript code, UI text and submission writing, original graphics, tests, and debugging. No music or sound is used. The amber opponent uses local deterministic rules; there is no live AI service or player API key.

Is it fair to call this a territory control game?

While obstacles like rocks are present and items like amber gems can be used, I found myself wondering if there are other ways to deepen the strategic depth.

That said, I think the underlying concept of planting and growing greenery is lovely!
